And of course, it's many iconic weapons. 15 💯 Devil May Cry 2 Swords 🌳

Devil May Cry 2 was an interesting point for the series. Massive levels, but very samey. Much less interesting enemy design, a simply odd, hard-to-follow story, and the dramatic change to Dante's personality. But the most critical change was its weapons and combat.

Devil May Cry 2 has only one weapon, really. There's plenty of swords, sure, but they all share the same moveset - just different speeds and damage. The moves used follow not the set combos of the original, but directional input that is in no way cataloged in-game. It just lacks the style that the original game laid down.

14 Gilgamesh

Dante in Devil May Cry 4 is in an odd place. In a game very clearly focused around newcomer Nero, Dante can feel out of place. Enemies aren't really designed for him, and the levels he runs through are just glorified backtracking. But then his style-swapping is expanded and his devil trigger changed.

Enter Gilgamesh. Now, this isn't to say Gilgamesh doesn't itself have an interesting design or isn't enjoyable to use - it is. But it falls into the issue of weapons both before and after it simply innovating and expanding more. The steam from charged attacks and mask are cool designs, but the moveset offers no awe if you've already used Beowulf.

Starting the game with Force Edge, you soon acquire the lighting-coated Alastor. They share the same moveset, with Alastor's being slightly extended to account for its (very cool) devil trigger moves. Many of these moves are the foundation for Rebellion's moveset in later games. So even if it becomes surpassed, it deserves its legacy mention.

12 Ifrit

Ifrit falls into a similar position as Alastor, having laid the groundwork for all hand-to-hand weapons that came later. But a core detail of the original is that unlike weapons in later games, Ifrit and Alastor♏ have completely different devil triggers. Though Alastor mainly gets flying and increased speed, Ifrit gets moves.

From the ability to shoot out fireballs to unlocking the devastating kick 13, Ifrit stands as a much stronger combo weapon in its devil trigger,🐠 and onc♛e again became the blueprint for later weapons.

11 🍌 Sword of Sparda

The Sword of Sparda falls in an interesting place. It's used by Dante in both the original game, and again in Devil May Cry 5, and his access to it is brief in both games. That said, it also holds the unique place of being a weapon that's used two different movesets, but kept the same core features.

In the original, it shares the same moveset of Alastor, though lacks a devil trigger. To make up for this, it has massively boosted damage and the defining feature of changing form. During a stinger, it extends fo more range, or for round trip changes into a scythe for a similar effect. In 5, it instead uses the Rebellion moveset but shares the form-changing on the same moves. Plus, it's a pretty cool design.

10 Lucifer

Though Dante can definitely feel ill-fitting at times in 4, one thing he does have is Lucifer. Lucifer is quite simply one of the most unique weapons𒅌 in the series. From the giant skull on the back to the now iconic rose, it stands as a weapon that is, well, kinda hard to tell what it even is.

Lucifer doesn't really have a simple explanation. It's styled like a dance, where positioning is key. Dante does a move and he summons floating swords from Lucifer. Those swords then float until summonsed to strike or detonate. Lucifer has the issue that its learning curve is like climbing a mountain with no gear, but it has the potential to set up crazy combos if you can get your head around it.

9 Nevan

The weapon that probably best showcases Dante's personality in 3 is Nevan. The weapon claimed after defeating the self-named lightning witch, Nevan is, quite simply, an electric guitar. But a very deadly one. And 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:very fitting to his shirtless era.

Nevan is about crowd control, keeping enemies at a pace but just close enough to keep them combo'd, though is hard to master. The bats are more to keep enemies occupied rather than outright attack, and the button precision needed to execute moves right is just like trying to master the guitar itself. But there's nothing quite like playing the opening act to Hell itself.

Another from 3 is Agni and Rudra. They're an interesting pair, quite literally. 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:You fight them first as two brothers who endlessly talk to each other, much to Dante's anger. But even when transformed into devil arms, they chat still until Dante demands they stay silent. It' a little funny then knowing that they're just silently watching everything.

But the moves - they take the 🌠form of dual swords using fire and wind. Unlike Rebellion, they focus on slightly slower but wider-ranged attacks and by default have stronger air capabilities than Rebellion. Certain attacks have them combined into a single glaive, and have plenty of knockback attacks to keep enemies at bay too.

7 Beowulf

Likely the most iconic of Dante's hand-to-hand weapons is Devil May Cry 3's Beowulf. Using Ifrit as a foundation, Beowulf expands the moveset to add in kicks and flesh out the charge attacks even more. As such, Beowulf is the definitive damage-dealing weapon of the game, having to rely more on targeted attacks than hoping for wide range.

With Beowulf, attacks not only get stronger with charges but also longer and at times even new animations that can be chained further. It also takes a least a little from Ifrit's projectiles, letting you send out orbs of light and cause massive knockback waves around yourself.

6 Cerberus

Maybe picking up on a trend here, is Devil May Cry 3's Cerberus. Acquired from the giant hound itself, Cerberus is a kind of nunchaku - three rods attached to a ring at the center representing the heads of Cerberus. It's infused with the power of ice and is focused more on speed and quick attacks than damage.

Cerberus can summon massive ice pillars and even surround Dante in an ice storm to damage enemies. Though it really excels is in combo🅠ing. Though low in damage, its hit rate is incredibly high and has the speed to match, jumping from enemy to enemy with ease and keepi💯ng a 360-degree watch on your surroundings.
