Where To Find Avarice

All three World Bosses have roughly a six-hour spawn timer ꦛand can appear in one of five locations around Estuar.

  • Fractured Peaks - The Crucible
  • Scosglen - Caen Adar
  • The Dry Steppes - Saraab Calder
  • Hawezar - Fields of Desecration
  • Kehjistan - The Seared Basin

Despite the random spawn point, it is very easy to locate the current World Boss, owing to the 30-minute notification positioned at their upcoming location. This not only gives you a precise spawn timer but also details the Weekly Quest rewards. Your first kill of the week, regardless of which World Boss you slay, will grant you bonus rewards, which include more Gold, Gems, Items, and the rare currency; Scatted Prisms.

These Scattered Prisms can only be obtained in two ways: killing either a World Boss or a Treasure Goblin. They are an important item for end-game progression, as they will allow you to add additional sockets onto your gear, a very powe꧟rful effect thanks to the power Gems provide.

Alongside gear and currency, every world boss has a unique cosmetic on their loot table, such as a Mount Trophy or Mount Armor.

How To Beat Avarice

Gold Mounds And Avarice Health Bar In Diablo 4

Avarice is a large fairly slow boss that relies on wide-sweeping melee attacks and Gold based abilities. His attacks are relatively predictable and he won't deal much chip damage, meaning if your gear is relatively solid he shouldn't be much of a problem.

Keep in mind that you will have 15 minutes to slay him before he disappears to safety.

Avarice's melee attacks will swing around in a 180-degree sweep, hitting all players with either his Mace or his Treasure Chest. The Treasure Chest has a much larger hitbox and range, so it will deal considerably more damage.

  • Both melee and ranged builds should endeavor to stay underneath the boss's tail at all times, as it helps to avoid these big attacks.

Most problems come when he starts summoning a large gold portal, which he will dash through, only to reemerge from another random portal.

This ability is not very fast, so you should be able to dash out of the way unless you are trapped by Gold Mounds. These a🐷re the hardest mechanic of the fight, as Avaꦐrice will continually spawn more and more of them.

When he smashes his Treasure Chest into the ground, it will send out a shockwave that causes all active Gold mounds to explode after a short delay. Try to stay away from the▨se mounds as they can easily kill you when they explode.

  • Avarice will also spawn some golden puddles around him, but these are not too tricky to avoid.

Occasionally he will summon some Treasure Goblins to help him in combat. However, they are nothing more than a chance for extra loot, so if you're good on time then try breaking away from Avarice and hunting the little guys down for some extra goodies.

  • After you have defeated Avarice, don't forget to kill off his now attackable Treasure Chest for a nice amount of Gold.

As Avarice is a multiplayer encounter, there is a good chance you'll get resurrected by another player even if you do di to one of his attacks.
