Blizzard and Nvidia are aware of reports that Diablo 4 is bricking graphics cards, saying that they are investigating the matter. This comes as complaints fill the Blizzard forums and the Diablo subreddit, with PC players saying their GPUs were fried after playing the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Diablo 4 beta.
This also comes as Blizzard is hyping up the next Diablo beta, letting thousands of more fans try out the game before its release later today. Many PC fans are asking if they should even bother installing the beta before the issue with Nvidia GPUs has been addressed, and it's not yet clear if that's advisable.
"The Diablo 4 team has been investigatin🎐g the reports of GPU issues mentioned in this thread and elsewhere online," on the Blizzard forums. "The team is working closely with Nvidia to identify affected ♈hardware configurations and gather as many data points as possible to assist in the investigation."
While reports of GPUs not being able to handle Diablo 4 are widespread, it's only one particular model that is apparently giving up altogether. GeForce RTX 3080 Ti seems to be causing the most significant issues, bricking the GPU altogether. And almost always in the same cutscene.
"While playing Diablo for about 20 minutes, during a cutscene in the chapel, my monitors turned off,"🐭; says Reddit user mkp0203. "Had to restart my PC and motherboard is now posting error code 97. Nothing is working. My GPU is dead."
They're far from the only user with a 3080 Ti, with many on the reporting the same issues with their cards.
Until Blizzard has addressed whatever issue is causing this, customer support has shared a possible fix alongside its statement above. But to avoid needing that fix in the first place, it's advisable to cap graphics quality and framerate if you haven't already.
However, that is not the only model that's causing problems. "My Gigabyte 3080 12g Gaming OC non ti was acting very weird during the beta," says Rsalyer7. "95/99% GPU usage, massive stuttering, crazy coil whine, and multiple BSODs giving stop codes of VGA_Failure."
Overall, if you start to notice any of these issues cropping up, then it's best to shut down the system immediately. Better to be safe than sorry.
Blizzard and Nvidia did now immediately respond to TheGamer's request for comment.
