While it was pretty much a given from the beginning, it was confirmed by Blizzard - via a technical alpha pre-briefing - that the mobile game would be a free-to-play title. “We plan to have all content, all story and a🦄ll classes… be free”, said lead designer Wyatt Cheng, who elaborated that Diablo Immortal will feature “in-game purchases that are not required for people to progress or to simply enjoy the game”. Assuring fans that Blizzard’s primary goal is to always put gameplay first, the developer confirmed that all gear in the game is self-found without the ability to be purchased elsewhere.
Diablo Immortal’s technical alpha will feature four classes: Barbarian, Wizard, Mo🍨nk, and Demon Hunter. The alpha will boast a level cap of 45 - featuring paragon points outside those parameters - and house seven open-world zones with six dungeons to explore. The develo🔥pers are using this alpha to test early level experience, mid-game systems, client performance, and server stability.
