The villains are just as much of a part of the anime as the protagonists, even though we don't always cheer for them. Admittedly, most of the villains from this franchise are the standard 'bad guy,' but there are 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:a few that stand out among the others. Here are the antagonis🌌ts that make the Digimon anime truly stand out.

8 Piedmon

Digimon: Piedmon Turns The Digidestined Into Keychains

Despite their purpose being to bring joy to everyone, clowns have frequently been portrayed in a negative light. They're shown as creepy and dangerous, often not even human. This is a stereotype that has stuck with clowns for years, and Digimon's own Piedmon definitely hasn't helped alleviate this stereotype.

Out of all the Dark Masters, Piedmon was the most dangerous. He was calculating and clever, preferring to use mind games rather than raw power in combat. However, when he needs to get his hands dirty, this clown was 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:a surprisingly formidable foe, capable of defeating both WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon by himself. Had it not been for Angemon's sudden digivolution, it's safe to say that the DigiDestined would have lost to this demented clown.

7 Blac🃏kWarGreymon 🌸

Digimon Adventure 02: The Anti WarGreymon

Not all antagonists need to have a deep and convoluted plot. So🧔metimes the best antagonist is one of a few words and motives. BlackWarGreymon was such a villain. They were literally born to be a villain to be used against the DigiDestined, and while he did betray his creators, he did just that. However, what makes BlackWarGreymon stand out is his growth.

He started as little more than a child with incredible power thrust into a world he didn't understand and given a task he didn't wish to carry out. Despite the destruction he left in his wake, the one thing this dark Digimon desired to do was to find meaning in his life. In the end, he gave his life to protect both the Digital World and the Real World, proving that not all villains stay villains.

6 ✤ The Digimon Emperor

Digimon Adventure 02: The Digital World's First Human Antagonist

The Digimon Emperor, also known as Ken Ichijouji was the first human villain to be introduced in the series. Up until his introduction, the DigiDestined had only battled against Digim🦂on. Being thrown into a conflict with a human their own age was a twist that no one saw coming. He was a tyrant set on controlling the Digital World with his Dark Rings and Dark Spirals.

Not only was he attempting to enslave all Digimon, but he even created his own by using the parts of other Digimon. This one human was truly one of the worst villains in the franchise, but the audience couldn't help but feel for them when their origins were revealed. Hearing 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:his tragic backstory made the audience cheer for him as he tried to redeem himsel🧔f.

5 Aki🍃hiro Kurata ༺

Digimon Data Squad: Akihiro Kurata And His Legion Of Gizumon

While not the first human antagonist, Akihiro Kurata was definitely the worst out of all of them. Unlike the Digimon Emperor, Kurata was a genuinely evil individual. From the start, he feared and hated all Digimon. He mercilessly destroyed innocent Digimon, including Keenan's adoptive mother Frigimon, and he wanted nothing more than the destruction of the Digital World.

Furthermore, something that made Kurata different from other human antagonists was the fact that his actions were his own. He was never manipulated or controlled, unlike other human antagonists from this series. Yes, his actions were brought on by his fear of Digimon, but that's no excuse for the destruction and pain he caused.

4 The D-Reaper ♏

Digimon Tamers: The Horrifying Faces Of The D-Reaper

Digimon Tamers has a bit of a reputation as being the first entry within the Digimon series to tackle the darker themes of death and self-deprecation, as well as twisted visuals that still haunt many to this day. However, even after brutal scenes like DarkLizardmon's torture and Leomon's death, nothing could prepare fans for the D-Reaper.

The D-Reaper was a digital life form that absorbed data from anything it touches, as well a𒊎s negative emotions. After its temporary defeat, it reappeared within the Real World, attaching itsel⛄f to Jeri to use her as an energy source. In its final fight with the tamers, the D-Reaper took on a twisted visage that mimicked their captured friend, adding to the mental anguish the group was feeling and scarring a generation of Digimon fans for years to come.

3 Betsumon

Digimon Ghost Game: Betsumon Impersonating Gammamon

Betsumon is a rather unsuspecting Digimon. With its first appearance on Digimon Xros, this cosplaying Digimon acted more as a comic-relief character than a villain. Despite his surprising amount of versatility, he didn't have the temperament to be anything other than a one-off villain. That is until this Digimon was 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:reintroduced in Digimon Ghost Game.

When Betsumon made its first appearance in Ghost Game, it impersonated the main protagonist's Digimon. The audience could clearly see the difference, but the characters couldn't see the difference. Because no one realized Gammamon was real, the young Digimon was left homeless and questioning his own identity. While not the most devious plot, t💝he emotional trauma that this༺ Digimon caused was a truly evil act.

2 King♏ Drasil

Digimon Data Squad: The God Of The Digital World

Out of every villain in the franchise, King Drasil has to be one of the scariest opponents that any DigiDestined has ever faced. While not visually intimidating when compared to other antagonists like the D-Reaper, King Drasil is still terrifying. Not only do they command one of the strongest groups of Digimon, the Royal Knights, but they are the literal god of the Digital World.

They have absolute command over the Digital World and its inhabitants. This control is so absolute that they were able to force BanchoLeomon to kill his human partne🧸r before taking over their lifeless body. In combat, King Drasil proved himself to be💜 a formidable opponent with the ability to fend off the members of the Data Squad as well as their own knights.

1 Myotismon

Digimon Adventure: The Vampire Digimon Myotismon

Despite being used frequently as villains, there's always a level of charm that these types of creatures bring to the role. They are almost always charismatic, luring their prey in with honeyed words and roguish charms before striking them down with devastating precision and brutality. Despite their strength, they're schemers, only willing to fight when left with no other option, and it's always these types of villains that are the most interesting.

Myotismon is such a villain. He sat back and plotted like an evil game master, sending out his minions to face the DigiDestined before he stepped onto the battlefield himself. Even after he was defeated, this undead Digimon still managed to directly affect the events of the second season of the anime, leading to his revival. This just goes to show you can't keep a good villain down.
