As always, red cards in the Digimon Card Game are aggressive, offer excellent removal, and are outright dangerous when left unchecked. BT10 Xros Encounter is no different from previous sets. With new combo-heavy archetypes like Xros Heart and the addit💞ion of all-new Gammamon cards, red is looking to be a force to be reckoned with.
From searcher cards to consisten✃cy cards, the new cards in Xros Encounters are bound to become staples in the future for theiౠr respective strategies and even become the mold for future decks.
10 Breaclaw
By seeing cards like WezenGammamon or GulusGammamon, yo🐈u might think these are the best additions to the Gammamon deck in BT10, but in reality, that prize goes to Breaclaw. This card only costs one memory to play, and it gives your Gammamon a small DP boost and nets you a card draw by doing so.
The best part about this card is that you can place a card with Gammamon in ꧟its name underneath that Digimon, opening up the possibilities of the Gammamon deck endlessly.
9 Canowei♌ssmon ꧒
The worst part about Gammamon being the protagonist in the ongoing Digimon Ghost Game anime is that we won't get his full support until all of his forms are revealed in the show. This is why the Gammamon deck has had a relatively slow rollout, but with the release of BT10, Canoweissmon rounds out the deck perfectly.
By using a combination of Breaclaw, and the Hiro Tamer cards, Canoweissmon becomes a powerful boss Digimon that is equipped with Piercing, Security Attack +1, Retaliation, and just about every other ke♛yword in the game.
8 ♛ Hero🌌 of the Skies!
One of the most powerful effects in card games is the good ol' draw two cards. When it's paired up with a secondary effect, the effect becomes even more incredible than it previously was. Hero of the Skies! not only allows you to draw two cards to dig deeper into the deck for your Xros Heart pieces but if you already have a Shoutmon X5 in the Battle Area, it gains Security Attack +1.
Shoutmon X5 already has Security Attack +1, meaning next time your Shoutmon attacks, it will be checking more than half of your opponent's Security.
7 Shoutmon
Every deck needs a good searcher, and luckily, Xros Heart has more searchers than it needs. Shoutmon can search for a Xros Heart Digimon and a Tamer to set up y𒊎our combos for later turns.
The best part about Shoutmon is its inheritable effect. By giving Digimon with Shou🙈tmon in their names⛦ Rush for the turn, you are able to quickly rush your opponent down when DigiXrossing into the many Shoutmon combinations in X4, X5, or even Shoutmon (King Version).
6 ꧃ Shoutmon X4
The restriction list's newest resident, Shoutmon X4, is hands down one of the best cards in the Xros Heart deck. Shoutmon X4's powerful On Play effect to draw two cards combined with its ability to recycle its own material, so you can keep looping X4, was outright broken.
Shoutmon X4 by itself is not that strong of a card, but when you take into account the fact that the materials needed for his DigiXros give it Rush, Piercing, -2,000 DP to Security Digimon, and another card draw when attacking makes his one memory cost seem insignificant. The deck is still viable, and it's a fun deck to play, especially if you love early-game rushing.
5 🔯Shoutmon X5
In the case of Shoutmon X5, and after Shoutmon X4's restriction, this card has now become the real boss Digimon for the Xros Heart deck. While it does require more materials for its DigiXros than Shoutmon X4, if done with all of them, Shoutmon X5 can be played for free. It will still retain all the usual inheritable effects like Rush and Piercing, but it also gains Reboot due to the Sparrowmon needed. This is especially useful since this version of Shoutmon is inherently a blocker.
4 𝓰 Shoutmon (King Version)
On its release, Shoutmon (King Version) was overlooked quite a bit, but with Shoutmon X4 now restricted to one copy, this card's ability to bring back DigiXros cards from the trash is almost mandatory.
Not only that, but this Shoutmon can also be DigiXrossed to be played for three memory, and if done so with a regular rookie Shoutmon, this card can Rush for a🙈 game-winning attack or even bait a block from your opponent. Then after it has been played, you can use it as a replacement for any material in a DigiXros, making it easier to go back into the recovered X4 even if all the pieces are not in yo🐼ur hand.
3 ♉🦩 Taiki Kudo
If Shoutmon X4 is the best card in the set, then Taiki Kudo is the most important one. Taiki not only searches your deck for a Xros Heart card whether it's either a Digimon or Tamer, but it also places another Xros Heart underneath him.
Taiki allows the deck to perform a DigiXros by using Digimon from underneath Tamers as the material, effectively speeding up 𒁏the deck quite a bit. By constantly rushing in with Rookie Digimon, the Xros Heart deck can gain a speedy advantage even before the initial dice roll.
2 Jesmon (X Antibody) ✱
Xros Heart is not the only deck that got support in the shape of red cards in Xros Encounter. One of the original OTK decks makes a comeback in the set with Jesmon (X Antibody). Following Jesmon's old gameplan of swarming the Battle Area with Sistermon cards, Jesmon (X Antibody) plays another Sistermon for free when Digivolving, but what makes this card so important is that it lets all your Digimon attack unsuspended Digimon and gives all your Digimon a 2,000 DP boost.
This effect will let you quiꩵckly remove any problematic floodgate that your opponent might ha✅ve set up to deal with the swarm of Sistermon.
1 Jesmon GX
Jesmon GX takes wha🍷t gameplan the original Jesmon deck already had and then cranks it up. GX is a very impressive card at 15,000 DP and many powerful effects to boot for only five memory to Digivolve.
The coolest thing about this card is that it can Digivolve over any level six Digimon with Royal Knight in its traits. This feature opens up all the deck-building possibilities in order to gi𒆙veﷺ Jesmon GX tons of Security Attack modifiers by continuously placing Royal Knights underneath itself.
