Digimon World: Next Order has some of the best music in the series, regularl𓆉y outputting tracks that perfectly suit the areas and scenarios that they were written for, all while maintaining a l🃏evel of quality that takes it beyond the generic.

While shorter games can get away with smaller soundtracks, a game that involves regular returns to earlier areas should have a greater list of themes to fit your overall progress.

While there exists a story to follow throughout the course of Next Order's gameplay, it's so based on contrivance and coincidence that it rarely reaches anything further than just average. Not every game needs a plot, especially since too much narrative can weaken gameplay experiences that would be better served by a hands-off approach – Next Order, though, is not one of these games.

A strong storyline would have made the process of rearing Digimon over the course of the campaign feel more personal, allowing you to feel as though the bonds you've built with your monsters had an effect on the ongoing plot. As it stands now, the inclusion of a story serves no purpose other than to add linear progression to a gameplay loop that is focused on repetition.

If Digimon World: Next Order does a poor job of anything during its runtime, it's tutorializing the many mechanics that make up its gameplay. Unless you're on your second playthrough of the 40-hour experience, you'll likely be fumbling around as you try to understand what is necessary for progression. Not knowing that the gym is less efficient at stat leveling than combat, for example, is not a gameplay challenge, but a flaw in design that artificially extends the game's length.

To better acclimate you to Next Order's gameplay systems, the developers should bake guidance into the structure of the UI and world. This doesn't have to come in the form of direct gameplay restrictions, though, and can be given through simple indicators like level suggestions for areas and Digimon requests for activities to point you in the right direction.

5 ♐ Make The Camera Easier To Control 🌠

Controls are the very foundation of a gameplay experience, which is why it's upsetting that the camera controls in Next Order aren't as helpful as they should be. As you obtain larger Digimon, they begin to block more of the screen during exploration, and there is very little that can be done to fix this.

The current controls allow you to zoom in and out, but even at maximum distance from your character, the gargantuan monsters still hog screen space and take attention from important elements of the world. It's so bad that some modders have even taken to on the PC version of the game.

4 Improve The Pacing Of The Introduction 🐽

More weekly and seasonal events would make every day exploring in the digital world feel refreshing, while rewarding you for keeping a close eye on the calendar with items and stat boosts to expedite the process of training Digimon. Every ne🅘w egg would now bring with it a diverse training experience, ꦗmaking the process of evolving your Digimon less tedious.

2 Give Locations Mor🌳e Interesting Designs 🌟

Since Digimon World: Next Order was originally designed for the PS Vita, it makes some sense that the world design is simple to accommodate hardware limits– but even with this excuse, the locations don't feel nearly unique enough to the world of Digimon and aren't interesting to explore.

Most of the areas in the game, save for Bony Resort, are flat, uncomplicated layouts that stick to their theme♕ without wavering– the way to make a game like this feel memorable is to take risks and introduce levels where each room tries to do something unique. If all the locations took notes from Bony Resort, exploration would be more satisfying overall.

1 🌄 Reduce The Grind

Grinding makes up the entirety of Next Order's gameplay loop, requiring you to power up as much as possible before attempting each boss. The issue at hand is that you'll have your work thrown away if you aren't fast enough at grinding– given that it already takes a decent amount of time to figure out the right grinding methods, you're going to be spending multiple real-world days on goals that should only take a few hours.

This issue would be fixed with tweaks to the way that the cycle of life and death works; Digimon ofඣten get stat boosts from their predecessors, but what they need is an upgrade to the rate at which they level. This way, you would feel a sense of im🐈provement as a trainer and spend less time waiting for your chance to challenge bosses.
