There are currently five Intrepid Heroes campaigns, with two of them having multiple seasons. They span different genres🍸 and while most use Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition, A Starstuck Odyssey uses Star Wars 5th Edition. We take a look at each season individually, as there are often changes bജetween them, and attempt to rank them all.

Please note that the ranking is entirely personal, but I have tried to cover the vibes and contents of each season as best I can to offer a spoiler-free overview of each campaign.

Neverafter is the Intrepid Heroes first foray into hardcore horror. Based on Grimm's Fairy Tales, our player characters are inspired by Pinocchio, Puss in Boots, Mother Goose, The Frog Prince, Red Riding Hood, and Sleeping Beauty. They journey through a strange land that reveals dark and macabre twists to all their tales.

Every episode of Dimension 20 f꧅eatures trigger warnings with time stamps for graphic or uncomforta﷽ble content.

The main storyline explores the themes of destiny and storytelling, and how they intertwine. It's a dark tale, and not for the faint-hearted, since the topics covered include abuse, murder and other grisly tales. The cast take to the genre well, but it can be a difficult watch and some of the strings of this tale get very tangled indeed.

Fantasy High is the first Dimension 20 campaign and the High School setting is the perfect place for them to find their feet. The Intrepid Heroes are teenage adventurers, hoping to learn more about their craft through classes about, well classes. The group meet in detention on the first day, and The Bad Kids adventuring party is formedꦑ.

Several cast members are learning ✨to play at this stage, so if you hate watching beginners find their feet and learn their spells this one may not be for you. For the rest of us, the chaos is hilarious.

The original line up includes a bard, a barbarian, a wizard, a fighter, a cleric, and a rogue. However, at the Aguefort Adv💎enturing Academy you can take classes in anything, which really helps sow the seeds of a story of finding yourself amidst the usual teenage drama, with some magical monsters thrown into the mix.

Set i꧅n a fantasy version of New York, the campaign tells the tale of The Unsleeping City, a magi⛦cal counterpart of New York. All the player characters are already level three and start with archetypes, adding more depth to both the storyline and the combat. They comprise a group of citizens with wildly different backgrounds, who are thrust together by fate.

Some characters already know of the existence of this magical district, while others are introduced to it during the campaign. They come together to fight for the city after the magic in the waking world gets severely out of hand, threatening both parts of New York. It's gritty and dark in places but focuses mostly on relationships, both those of the characters, and those between the waking and sleeping sides of the city.

Dimension 20 returned to Aguefort Adventuring Academy in this live series covering Fantasy High: Sophomore Year. The Bad Kids return and are given a ridiculously dangerous school assignment that sees them journeying to far off places and encountering threats far beyond what you'd expect from a Sophomore Year assignment.

Due to the campaign being live, the vibe feels different here. You get to see all the chaos unedited as the cast get to grips with playing higher-level characters, doing math and solving mysteries, all in front of an audience. Once again, the setting fits perfectly as the characters (and arguably also th🤪e cast) discover more about themselves.

4 The second season of The Unsleeping City continues in the same vein as the first. The character levels are higher this time around, and the battles, both personal and magical, are far more intense. This chapter adds an interesting downtime system, where players can roll to achieve tasks of their choice, which have effects on their 𓄧characters as well as the story.

The RPG elements are uniquely blended here, and the online setting means sets and miniatures are out, but the stakes are higher on a narrative level. It's a gritty extension of the world, with enough similarities to make it feel familiar, but enough changes to make things unpredictable.

This campaign is best described as Game of Thrones in Candyland. It follows the story of the Concord, an empire of six kingdoms, based on different food groups, who are united in a tentative peace under the Bulbian Church and the C🌱oncordant Emperor. After an unexpected event, peace is threatened and House Rocks, our heroes, must step up.

The Game of Thrones theme was taken very seriously and this campaign features intense and difficult battles where no one is safe. Every player was asked to create a backup character and the fact the cast know that every battle could be their last gives the series an unpredictable edge that's not yet been replicated.

A Starstruck Odyssey is probably one of the most divisive Intrepid Heroes campaigns. It uses the Star Wars 5th Edition TTRPG to allow for ship combat in space and is also the first campaign to be set in an existing world. It's based in the universe of Starstruck, which has spanned

Starstruck was created by Elaine Lee and Michael Wm. Kaluta. It began in 198, breaking the superhero mo♕uld with its cast of predominantly female characte🔯rs. It continued to break boundaries on and off through the years. with the last release being Old Proldiers Never Die, published by IDW in 2017.

The emphasis in this campaign is hijinks, and the characters are an eclectic bunch of space adventurers with a terrible ship and even fewer useful skills traversing a diverse and chaotic universe. For sci-fi fans, and those who don't take these things too seriously, the combination is perfect, and seeing the cast work to pre-written parameters is also another unique experience.

Yes, I'm aware that this may be considered a cheat since we are only halfway through the series, but I'd put this at the top for the opening alone. While this is the first time a campaign has hit three seasons, there's no momentum lost here. It starts as it means to go on, and you can see lessons learned from the seasons that have gone before.

Our much loved teenage adventurers are now dealing with the consequences of their decisions over the last two years, as they hit a crucial point in their education. Making use of mechanics introduced in other campaigns, they combine school work and stress with consequences and chaos. It's a fantastic mix, and even at the halfway point, it's already a winner.
