With the race for next-gen console supremacy set to start this holiday season, Microsoft might have an early candidate that can sway public opinion. According to Robert Karp, development director for 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:DiRT 5 at Codemasters, the upcoming rally sequel 🐻will be able to push 4K resolution at 60 frames-per-second on the Series X. An option for 120 FPS playback will also be selectable, albeit at a reduced resolution.

In the below interview (shift to around the 4:17 timestamp), Karp states, "With DiRT 5, you'll be able to play at 4K with 60 FPS, but there will also be an option for a 120 hz mode...Gamers know that framerate counts. 120 hz in racing: that𓄧's where the action's at." I'm a little skeptical of any console being able to provide that, but it would be a major selling point for this particular version.

Another selling point that gets reiterated in this interview is that DiRT 5 will make use of Microsoft's "Smart Delivery" system. This means that anyone who purchases the game on Xbox One will be given a free upgrade to the Series X version when the console launches. This likely means DiRT 5 will be coming out ahead of the next-gene𒀰ration, but it's still a great incentive to buy the game on current-gen hardware.

While this option on Series X is great, where does that leave the PlayStation 5 port? With Sony's next console also providing a big jump in performance gains, it should be able to provide a similar experience to Series X. DiRT 5 will likely have the same 4K 60 FPS metric, though maybe without the 120 ℱFPS option.

Sony has yet to show anything about its new console, though, so we're only left with questions on that front. Microsoft faithful can rest easy in knowing that Codemasters is taking full advantage of the hardware Microsoft has crafted. If you have a high refresh rate monitor (or even one of those fancy Gsync LG TV's), DiRT 5 will be a technical showpiece for your entertain🗹ment systeꦫm.

The game also just plain looks like a good game. It might be a little underwhelming in terms of evolution over DiRT 4, but the return to the wacky antics of titles like DiRT 2 and 3 is great for differentiating between the main games and the Rally spin-offs.
