Few developers can manage the incredible depth of immersive sims like Arkane, and 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Dishonored is a great example of that. It's a world that genuinely feels storied, like people are really living here, and you can get a tangible feel of how life exists without your presence. From the dreary, plagued streets of Dunwall to the sun-bleached heights of Karnaca, the world of Dishonored feels immense.
And with such density of detail, of course, there are a great many details just hidden away that you may never even see. Or, maybe they've even been staring you in the face and you've simply never noticed.
10 Daud's Chaos Levels
The Dishonored series is well known for its chaos system, which changes the world based on your actions. But in the main game, this exists mainly in high and low, with few examples of m𓃲edium chaos being acknowledged, such as Callista surviving or Samuel hating you but not alerting your presence on Kingsparrow Island.
In Daud's DLC however, both 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:medium-high and medium-low Chaos are acknowledged. Where this is most particularly shown is immediately prior to the final encounter with Delilah, where the Outsider has four distinct conversations he may have with you, all depending on 🥀Chaos.
9 ꦉ Celebrity Voice act💖ors
To back up the wonderful setting of Dishonored are the incredibly fitting voice actors who breathe an incredible depth of life into the characters. Perhaps well-known now is the small cameo that Carrie Fisher played, replacing the broadcast announcer if he was killed in D𝔉unwall Tower.
But the games contain many more. In the original, Emily is voiced by Chloë Grace Moretz. Billie in 2 and Death of the Outsider is voiced by Rosario Dawson, and gang leader Paulo is voiced by Pedro Pascal, most recently of The Mandalorian fame. Dishonored, thankfully, does not rely on famed actors to voice its lead roles🐻, but gives small cameos instead that still fit the world.
8 Corvo's Home Away From Home
Mentioned throughout the original game primarily inꩲ notes is the discrimination Corvo faces as Royal Protector. He is not a native to the isle of Gristol, the head of the Empire and setting of the original. Instead, he is from Serkonos, with many looking at him with suspicion for being foreign and using him as a scapegoat for their own treachery.
In Dishonored 2, however, you can actually find Corvo's original home, dilapidated and abandoned. It's a sad sight for Corvo especially, seeing the only other home he had reduced to ruins. But one memento can be found: the sword he used that won him his place in Dunwall in the first place.
7 Stealing Campbell's Cider
Of Dishonored's many distinctive features, the foremost of those is its art style. So, it's only fitting, then, that its primary collectibles be paintings of varying art styles, all by in-lore painters. From Sokolov's precise brushstrokes to Delilah's surreal vibrancy, the world's art pops all that more knowing they are real in this world, with a tangible style.
So notab𝐆le then, is the very first painting you come across. Sokolov is painting High Overseer⭕ Campbell, the former grumbling all the while. Sat on the table beside Campbell is a bottle of Gristol cider. A quip is made when you remove it, but it is not until you actually find the painting later that you see the bottle actually removed from the final rendition as well.
6 ꧂ The Hidden Room In Dunwall Tower ꦉ
One of the highlights of the original Dishonored is the return to Dunwall Tower, the point at which Corvo's revenge can finally come to fruition. The tower itself is a dense location, packed with rooms and rafters to explore. But of note is Jessamine Kaldwin's hidden room that leads directly to the Lord Regent's bedroom.
The tower is fi๊ttingly also the final level of the sequel, and ♎the hidden room makes a return. It is in the same location, and even has the same audiograph as before, though discovering the room this time is much more reliant on having known the room existed in the first place.
5 𝓰 The Safe of Morgan♊ Yu
Arkane is of course known for their meticulous detail in their immersive sims, and Prey is no different. Though saddled with the unmeetable expectations that the IP brought, they firmly established their own visionꩵ🦂 in Prey, a game with an intense horror aesthetic and a setting with a wondrous sense of self.
Arkane seems to have loved it so much that they even included a reference in Death of the Outsider. During the bank heist, you can encounter a safe for one "Morgan Yu." There is an associated password given to you from a contract, but players of Prey may have already guessed the password. Without 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:giving it away directly, it's the very same date the game is set.
4 Barrister Timsh's Original Estate
One of the standout levels from Daud's DLCs is the estate of Barrister Timsh. The tightness of the house itself is a change of pace of the streets and rooftops of typical Dishonored levels, instead forcing you to hide in plain sight in lieu of invisible heights. The level offers many ways to end it too, but its most distinctive trait was that it was originally intended for the main game.
In the original demos shown to journalists in 2011, the Timsh estate was used. Much of the layout remains the same, and even the intent for Corvo going there remains the same, albeit slightly adjusted to fit Daud's plot. Even the streets, the estate, and the presence and dialogue of gang members remain largely the same.
3 Galvani's Greatest Day
Dishonored is known for a great many things, though perhaps the most humourous of those is that of Doctor Galvani. His office can be encountered multiple times across the original game and robbed both times. It's a sad state of affairs for the man, but one it would seem he can afford, given subsequent entries.
Galvani appears once again in Dishonored 2, and again in Death of the Outsider. So fearful of being robbed is he, that he has stored his possessions in the bank of Dolores Michaels. And his password every single time? The greatest day of his life — when🍷 he met Anton Sokolov.
2 𓃲 The Voice Of A Thief 🧔
A distinctive change for the sequel was the introduction of voiced protagonists. Seeing as Emily was already voiced, it wouldn't have made sense for her to suddenly become mute, so it's an understandable choice. But the choice of voice actor for Corvo is actually a distinct choice with plenty of history behind it.
Corvo is voiced by Stephen Russell. Though more recently having done voice work i🅷n Bethesda games, Russell is most well-known for voicing Garrett, the protagonist of the original Thief series. Thief is also a major inspiration on Dishonored, as was much of Looking Glass Studios works, so he is ultimately the perfect fit for Corvo.
1 Aramis Stilton's Many Homes
In Dishonored 2, perhaps the best level (and maybe even one of the best in the series) is A Crack In The Slab, where you are tasked to travel to the ruined home of Aramis Stilton to discover his connection to Delilah. Inside, the home is dilapidated and Stilton has gone mad. Shortly afterward, though, you are confronted by the Outsider, giving you a tool to see Stilton's home at its height years ago.
The level then takes place across 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:his house in the past and present. However, the house actually has three variations in the present day. Do not interact with Stilton, and the house remains as-is. Kill him, and the house is renovated in the present, empty and put up for 🅺sale. Simply knock him unconscious, and the house is always renovated, though rooms in construction are now completed, and Stilton himself features in following♛ missions.
