Developer V1 Interactive has announced that its vehicular sci-fi FPS 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Disintegration will be shutting down its multiplayer servers o💝n November 17, 2020. Effective across ꧋all platforms (PC, PS4, and Xbox One), the game launched not even five months ago, and the team couldn't justify keeping the servers up for what was essentially a dead mode.
"While our player base showed🍬 interest in the single-player campaign, the game, unfortunately, struggled to build a significant audience necessary for a compelling multiplayer experience," writes the team . "After weighing options, we have collectively made the 🙈decision to sunset the multiplayer support."
While not riddled with pay-to-win microtr💟ansactions, Disin🔴tegration did feature an in-game shop for cosmetics. That feature will be getting removed today in the first phase of publisher Private Division's process. The company will be taking a tiered approach to phasing out the multiplayer with certain modes leaving at regular intervals. If you're worried about how this will impact the campaign mode, you can rest easy: everything there will remain intact and playable after the servers are closed.
As promising as Disintegration was from its early demos, I can't say I'm surprised by this decision. With free-to-play titles like Fortnite, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Call of Duty Warzone, and 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Apex Legends hogging the spotlight, it becomes much harder to market and sell a competitive shooter that isn'🍸t adopting the ཧsame business model. Had Disintegration launched without an entry fee, this story might have had a happier ending.
Even still, it was a smart move to include a campaign mode alongside a traditional multiplayer suite. Maybe it didn't help the game push more sales, but people may hear news of its multiplayer closure and be greeted with a new favorite. For all intents and purposes, the single-player portion was fashioned very much in the mold of the Halo series. It was 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:solid if a bit unambitious.
In a concluding paragraph about the game, V1 Interactive writes, "We believe the video game industry needs constant innovation and we will continue to take risks, follow creative visions, and support new ideas. To everyone who has played Disinteg🅺ration: we thank you."
