What makes 2010's Tangled so good is the way it sells the relationship between Rapunzel and Flynn, and by the end, you just want to see them be together. While they do, they hint at a wedding that was never shown, so when we were all invited to the ceremony in 2012's Tangled Ever After, it was already a special wedding even before watching it.

While the ceremony itself isn’t the catalyst for everything that happens a✨fter, it’s partially responsible; if Mr. Incredible wa🍰sn’t in such a rush to finish with his superhero persona, things might’ve been different. Still, the ceremony itself is great, with a private audience of their superhero friends and nods to the rest of the movie.

In the wedding, you see Ellie taking initiative in 🍬the kiss, meaning that their roleཧs remain much the same as a couple. You can also see their families, and how much they resemble their heritage, and of course, you believe in the love these two have for each other, which is what makes the following events so hard to watch.

Mulan is an incredible classic in Disney history, folꦗlowing the titular character’s quest to prove herself and save China, and even though her relationship with Shang is established, the focus on that was saved for the sequel, with themes all about relationships and choosing your partner. While the princesses are vital in establishing the theme, it’s Mulan and Shang who carry the story.
The final wedding scene is a culmination of not only the themes shown in the movie but a🐲lso ꦓof the lessons learned by the characters. Mulan and Shang learn that it’s their differences that make them grow stronger together, and Mushu learns to value their feelings by helping them overcome many political struggles, so it’s about letting go of your share of power to have more as a group.

While many consider Captain Jack Sparrow to be the element that carries the franchise, it was the relationship between Will and Elizabeth that gave it a semblance of cohesion. The initial wedding has Tiana and Naveen as frogs, accepting🌳 their fate as animals, but happy to be together. As opposed to the rest of the movie, they’re not looking to kiss to break any curse, they simply want to be together, so this is what breaks it in the end, making them human once more and letting them have the royal wedding they deserve.
