However, despite there being no combat, you must overcome challenges and obstacles. There are also many secrets to discover that will help🔥 you tremendously on your jou൩rney. Whether you tackle this adventure alone or with friends, you may want to go into it prepared to avoid early frustration.
Pure Platforming Goodness
As mentioned above, you have zero combat options in Disney Illusion Island, meaning you must use your platforming prowess to overcome every challenge and obstacle thrown your way.
This makes earning new Abilities crucial, as each one enables you to explore new parts of the world, access Collectibles, and much more. While there are boss encounters, you must use your Abilities to tackle mini-puzzles in the arena rather than use them to attack them directly.
With hints of a Metroidvania, Disney Illusion Island places a strong emphasis on its Abilities, gating off Collectibles and entire regions behind them, so be sure to progress through the main story if you want to see and do everything the game has to offer!
Co-Op Exclusive Abilities

How To Discover Hidden Areas
We touched upon the game's strong focus on platforming a lot already, but you must be made aware of the game's Hidden Areas, which house the game's Collectibles, which can lꦰead to some excellent bonuses for you, de🐠pending on what they are.
While there are many Hidden Areas in Disney Illusion Island, they are all fortunately easy to spot once you know what you're looking for. Every Hidden Area will have a small notch removed, which you can see in the image provided above.
If you see an object in the environment with a similar-looking notch, navigate toward it to have the object disappear, revealing a whole new area to explore behind it. Upon discovering a Hidden Area, a small green bug will appear on the object, indicating you have already found it.
Collectible Priority
Remaining on the topic of Collectibles in Disney Illusion Island, while we'd love to tell you to try and gather everything you can at all costs, there are really only two you should focus on in the early goings of the game, leaving the rest ♛for the post-credits𓃲.
These two Collectibles are Glimts and Map Pieces, as they are the only two Collectibles that directly impact your gameplay when gathering them. All other Collectibles have no tangible reward tied to them, making them excellent for post-game cleanup.
Glimts
Glimts are the floating, blueish-bubbly things you will see scattered throughout the world, typically in groups of three. Collecting a specific amount of Glimts will reveal an image via the Glimts Reward screen. Once the entire image is complete, you will obtain an Extra Heart for your Health.
You can earn up to three Extra Hearts via collecting Glimts, so gathering all that you can should be your top priority in the game, as there are no other ways to obtain Extra Hearts without using the previously mentioned Hug Co-Op Ability.

- 2340 Glimts: Third Heart
Map Pieces
Map Pieces are obtained by finding specific NPCs in each zone and speaking to them. These NPCs are typically found in Hidden Areas, so keep your eyes peeled when exploring each zone to better your odds of finding them!
While the Map Pieces won't reveal Hidden Areas on your Map, it will outline the rest of the zone for you, showcasing everywhere you have yet to explore and giving you some idea of what all you may have left to do there. Finding Maps can be crucial when looking for the last few Glimts or Collectibles in a specific zone, so be sure to find them as early as possible!
Fast-Travel Availability
Finally, while you will have to go through the entirety of the game without this feature unlocked, you can Fast-Travel between all Mailboxes (Checkpoints) in the game when you reach the game's final stretch.
This makes it much easier to clean up the rest of the Collectibles in the game, especially if you shifted your focus purely to Glimts and Maps, making things much more manageable if you're looking to 100 percent the game and see everything it has to offer.
Even if it comes at the final moments of your journey, we cannot stress enough how valuable this action is in Disney Illusion Island, as it enables you to tackle everything you have left to do at a lightning-fast pace. If you're dreading going through each zone for the remaining Collectibles, this will hopefully alleviate that tension for you!
