Old Timer is the third and final Thief you will encounter in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Disney Illusion Island, making this boss battle one of the most challenging the game has to offer. While you will have every Ability available at this point in your journey, you will be focusing purely on the Deep Dive and the Deep Dive Ram Abilities, as this fight takes purely in Moon Juice.
Like the previous boss encounters, there are three phases, and you must use your Abilities to overcome a series of mini-puzzles and challenges that will directly impact and deal damage to Old Timer. Each phase will aඣdd a new wrinkle, significantly increasing the difficulty.
Old Timer: Phase One Guide
As mentioned above, the boss encounter against Old Timer involves you swimming through Moon Juice via your Deep Dive Ability. As you navigate the Moon Juice, there will be glowing objects you must break with your Deep Dive Ram Ability.
Breaking all objects will damage Old Timer, having him slightly alter the arena, making things more challenging than before. Luckily, the first phase is much more manageable than the others.
Phase One: Part One Guide
The first part of the first phase has two large L-shaped pools of Moon Juice positioned in the upper right and bottom left corners of the arena, with a row of spikes lining the ground. There are three objects in the top pool of Moon Juice and only one in the bottom that you must destroy via Deep Dive Ram.
Old Timer will periodically fire off beams of energy that form an X-shape, which will alternate between rotating clockwise or counterclockwise. If the current rotation is clockwise, then the next time he attacks, it will be counterclockwise, and so on.
His first attack will be sort of a test run, as the objects you have to break won't be active yet, and it will always rotate clockwise. So be prepared to move to the left, and try to make your way to the upper pool of Moon Juice and position yourself by the first object near the top-left edge.
Next, wait until the objects become active and immediately hit the first one, then swiftly drop back down to the pool of Moon Juice below you and hit the single one here. Then, follow behind the beams of energy now traveling counterclockwise and move to the other pool of Moon Juice.
If you're quick enough, you can hit the remaining two objects before Old Timer launches his next attack. If you aren't, hit the one closest to you, reverse direction, and stay near the edge of the bottom-most pool of Moon Juice.
Wait for his next attack, then follow behind the beams of energy up to the remaining object to reach the second part of the first phase!
Phase One: Part Two Guide
Kicking off the second part, Old Timer will summon a set of spikes in both pools of Moon Juice, and there will now be five objects you must break instead of four. Two objects will be found in the bottom pool, with the remaining three at the top.
Aside from the additional object being added, your strategy here remains the same as in the first part. Just be mindful of the added spikes. You can follow the same pathing as before, as you never really passed through the zones where the spikes are placed.
Follow behind the beams of energy to get closer to an object, use Deep Dive Ram to destroy them, and repeat. Just like last time!
Phase One: Part Three Guide
The last part of the first phase will now have six objects for you to destroy with Deep Dive Ram, along with more spikes added to both pools of Moon Juice. Three objects will be in each pool, and your strategy will remain the same as the previous two rounds.
While the positioning of the latest spikes is troublesome, this can be overcome by starting at the top right corner of the top-most pool of Moon Juice during the 'testing phase' of his attack, having you move to the bottom-right corner of the top-most pool before the objects activate.
Since the second attack will be moving counterclockwise, you can hit all three objects in the top-most pool in one go, le𒆙aving only the three remaining in the bottom pool left to dest🐼roy.
After destroying the final object in the top left corner of the uppermost pool, quickly swim to the right and drop to the bottom pool of Moon Juice from just to the boss's right, landing directly beside the object near the right edge of the pool.
Now that Old Timer's attack will go clockwise. You can hit all three objects in the bottom pool in one go, capping off the first phase!
Old Timer: Phase Two Guide
The second phase of the Old Timer boss encounter changes the shape of the Moon Juice pools from large Ls to e-like shapes, with the right side flipped to make it symmetrical on either side. There are also a group of spikes in the top left and right corners, along with a row of spikes at the bottom of the arena.
You will also have access to two Hearts during this phase, so be sure to make use of them if you are low on health or receive damage during the course of this phase. Like the last one, you must use Deep Dive Ram to destroy various objects while dodging Old Timer's beam attacks.
Phase Two: Part One Guide
Like the last phase, each round of phase two opens with Old Timer launching an attack with inactive objects, meaning you cannot destroy them until his subsequent attacks. This time, however, he will begin with a counterclockwise attack, so position yourself accordingly.
This part has five objects, two on the right side and three on the left. When the objects become active, Old Timer will begin attacking clockwise, allowing you to get all three objects in the left Moon Juice pool.
After getting these, quickly swim to the bottom right portion of the left pool and leap into the right one before Old Timer begins his next wave of attacks. Since it will travel counterclockwise, you can clean up the remaining two objects in one go here!
Phase Two: Part Two Guide
Part two of the second phase has Old Timer spawn a row of spikes into both the right and left pools of Moon Juice. They will be located in the small gap near their center, where the Hearts spawn. Additionally, there are now six objects for you to destroy rather than five.
These spikes do not affect your strategy or pathing from the last round. They only really impact you if you need to grab a Heart to heal, but they shouldn't be much of a threat beyond that.
As a result, you can also follow the blueprint from the first round for this one. Still, you may want to use the Star Bridge at the top center of the arena to quickly access the top regions of both Moon Juice pools if you find yourself up there when Oﷺld Timer switches the direction of his attack🉐s!
Phase Two: Part Three Guide
The third and last part of the second phase is the trickiest, having Old Timer place a group of spikes at the top and bottom of the center of the arena, making jumping from one poꦗol of Moon Juice to another much more challenging.
There are also seven objects you need to destroy now. Three are on the left side, with four on the right. While your strategy and goal remain the same, you must be much more cautious when switching to a different pool of Moon Juice, making patience your friend this round.
We recommend using the Star Bridge to cross over between both pools of Moon Juice, as it drastically lowers your odds of getting hit by the newly placed spikes. However, if you are near the bottom, you can jump through the boss, as making contact with him doesn't actually harm you.
Overall, you will follow roughly the same pattern as the last two rounds, but you might have to move between both pools one extra time because you are forced to play more patiently!
Old Timer: Phase Three Guide
Lastly, the third and final phase is by far the most complex, adding four pools of Moon Juice into the mix with seven objects for you to destroy dispersed throughout each of them. There are also six groups of spikes positioned around the pools of Moon Juice and a line of spikes across the ground.
The bottom-most pool has three objects, with the uppermost having two. The left and right pools each have one object and a Heart, enabling you to refill your health if needed. Fortunately, there is only one round in this phase, making your life a little easier.
Phase Three: Final Part Guide
Unlike the previous two phases, Old Timer will not launch rotating energy beams. Instead, he will alternate between well-telegraphed patterns before he executes them, giving you ample time to move out of their way to evade damage.
Essentially, your biggest challenge here will be evading the spikes, timing your movement to avoid the incoming energy beams, and destroying the objects found in each pool of Moon Juice. While this may seem incredibly challenging, you have a series of Star Bridges that will help you get around most of this.
We suggest getting all three objects at the bottom first before moving to the left pool, then tackling the uppermost one after that, and finishing off with the right pool of Moon Juice. This will allow you to heal after clearing the first pool, then heal once more on the last one.
If you die during this phase, you will spawn back in with full health during this portion of the encounter, so don't stress too much when it comes to your health here. This is arguably the easiest phase of the bunch, primarily due to how well-telegraphed Old Timer's attacks are and how they don't chase you like the previous rounds!
