In Lorcana, there are a number of cards with the Bodyguard keyword. Along with having your card's standard strength and willpower, this allows you to play the character exerted and, if your opponent is going to challenge anything on their turn, they then have to target your Bodyguard first.

Control the field with these Disne🅠y characters, ensuring your victory as your opponent squeals in frustrat♏ion.

There are only two card colors currently that have Bodyguard characters: Amber and Steel. If you're looking to have either or both of these colors making up your deck, the ability to protect some of your characters during key moments can tip a match into your favor. But which are the best Bodyguard cards?

This✨ list rankꦏs Bodyguard cards based on their power and utility.

10 ⛎ Mickey Mouse, Musketeer

One Mighty Mouse

Mickey Mouse, Musketeer-1

There are three Musketeer character cards, which probably isn't a surprise given the trope of the "Three Musketeers." And it would only make sense for these to be the trio of pals at the heart of Disney, Mickey, Donald, and🃏 Goofy.

All of these cards have the Bodyguard attribute, but they also have one additional ability each, and Mickey's is called All For One. This will give any Musketeer characters you have in play +1 to their strength. This can be strong, of course, but you'll most likely have to work to keep all of them out at one time to gain the most benefit.

9 🌳 Donald🉐 Duck, Musketeer

And One Mighty Duck

Donald Duck, Musketeer-1

Speak of the duck, Donald makes it onto the list just above Mickey because of his additional ability. Along with costing two ink less, Donald will give all other Musketeer characters Evasive. Evasive means that only other character♕s with Evasive can challenge them. Or, on the flip side, i𒀰f your foe has an Evasive character, you now can challenge them thanks to Stay Alert.

Where an extra bonus to your strength means you can deal more damage, all the strength in the world can't touch a character if they have Evasive. So, Donald arguably has the better ability of the trio.

8 🍒 Maxiꦬmus, Palace Horse

Protecting And Supporting

Maximus is a strong Bodyguard optio♚n thanks to his strength of four and willpower of five. Most Bodyguard cards have a difference of two or more between these two stats, but Maximus is good at both challenging and defending.

Dogged and Dynamic is a go-wide deck for puppy lovers 🐈and those who like to play a lot of characters.

He also has the Support attribute, which can lend his strength to another character when he quests. Support isn't always the best to have on a Bodyguard character, but there are some cards that really benefit from being paired with Maximus, like Alice, Growing Girl, which gives you an additional four lore whenever she has a strength of ten or more.

7 Little John, Robin's Pal

A Little Disguise Goes A Long Way

Little John, Robin's Pal Lorcana Card

Little John is a low-cost Bodyguard option that can help you keep your side protected as early as turn three. And his ability Disguise grants him Evasiveness during your turn. This doesn't protect him if your opponent wants to challenge him, but that actually works better for Bodyguard.

If a Bodyguard has Evasive, characters without Evasive can't challenge them, and so can choose any other target instead.

Plus, he synergizes well with Little John, Resourceful Outlaw. You can shift Resourceful Outlaw onto Robin's Pal, and it also gives your other Bodyguard characters additional benefits. So, even if all you wanted to do was have a few of the Robin's Pal variants in your deck, they could all be played at the same time or one right after the other, making a wall of defense for your other characters.

6 ไ Baloo, von Bruinwald XIII

Another Bodyguarding Bear

Baloo, von Bruinwalk XIII Lorcana Card

Baloo only costs three inkﷺ to play and althoug🔯h his strength is, well, zero, he can lead to some early lore for you.

Along with being able to quest for one lore normally, whenever Baloo is banished, his ability, Let's Make Like A Tree, comes into effect, giving you two lore as soon as he's banished. It's a pretty straight forward card, but it can put you on the board early, especially since to make the most use out of him, you'll want to exert him.

5 Joshua Sweet, The Doctor 🐈

He's All About Willpower

Joshua Sweet - The Doctor Lorcana Card

Dr. Sweet is one of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the Amber Into The Inklands Boꦇdyguards. He isn't the strongest when it comes to strength, but his willpower of five means he should be around for at least a couple of turns.

Iconic Disney locations are in Disney Lorcana. These epic locations add several dynamicꦬs to your deck, but which are the best?

Unlike some of the other options on this list, he doesn't have an additional ability, but not every card needs one to be a solid option. Especially because, as an Amber character, he can give you some protection without you needing to build a Steel-based deck if there are other options you want to explore.

4 Nani, Protect𝓡ive Sister

Strong Inside and Out

Nani Protective Sister Lorcana Card

Although not similar in numbers, the reasons Nani is a strong option are the same reasons that Joshua Sweet 🐼is. She costs one ink more than he does, but gains two more strength and one willpower. So, unlike the good doctor, she can deal some more damage while taking some more too.

Again, to make the most out of her Bodyguard ability though, you'll most likely be questing. And every time she does, you'll be gaining two lore. This is nothing to sneeze at and can be, at least for a short time, a consistent source of lore while your opponent works to take her out.

3 Namaari,🐓 Morning Mist

Those Blades Stay Ready

lorcana card namaari morning mist by jenna gray

Namaari is a strong addition to any deck because she does something no one else can really do and it's all thanks to her ability Blades. Normally, you can only challenge a character once they've been exerted.

Namaari can completely side-step that rule and can be on the offensive, even if you opponent isn't exerting any of their characters. Her strength isn't the highest in the world, otherwise you'd probably see her in every Steel deck.

2 Simba, Protective Cub 𒅌🍨

A Strong Way To Start A Game

simba, pc

Simba has been a very strong Bodyguard since Lorcana first launched thanks to his low ink cost and his pairing with Lilo, Making A Wish. One of the best ways to use Simba is to play a cost one card on your first turn t🅰hat ca♐n start to generate you lore.

After they're on the field, you can play Simba exerted the very next turn, instantly protecting anyone you want to have questing. If you play him on turn two, there are very few characters that can take him out that early. Which means he and your other characters have at least a little bit of time to give you a head start, lore-wise.

1 Pluto, Determined Defender 🍎

The Faithful Friend

Pluto - Determined Defender Lorcana Card

Pluto, Determined Defender is one of the best Amber cards released in Lorcana's third set, Into The Inklands. And there are a few reasons why. Along with being a Bodyguard, he has a willpower of eight and can quest for two lore.

He can also be shifted onto another Pluto, like his cost one option, Friendly Pooch. But even better is that anytime you start your turn, Pluto will heal for three points of damage. That really forces your opponent's hand to get rid of him and to do it quickly, but that eight willpower makes it so they'll have to devote a lot of resources to do it.
