Despite the second season of The Mandalorian still being six months away, work has already begun on the⛎ third season of the Disney+ origi🎀nal.
The COVID-19 outbreak has had a massive effect on the entertainment industry. Release dates and production on countless projects has been postponed and halted as studios and producers wait for some sort of normality to be restored. Disney+ needed to kick off its exclusive streaming service with a hit, and managed that beyond a shadow of a doubt with The Mandalorian. No sooner had season one come to a close were fans of the show clamoring for more. Disney did🐬n't waste any time before revealing a second season is coming and will land week-by-week on Disney+ starting in October 2020.
The bad news is season two is still six months away. The good news is information has already leaked revealing there will be a season three. Not just that, but workꦜ on the third season of the show has already begun. Presumptuous on the one hand to assume the second season will be as successful as season one, but logical considering how well-received the first season of the show was 🔜by fans.
Variety reports, "sources close to the production have confirmed that creator Jon Favreau has been 'writing seasoᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚn 3 for a while.'" On top of that, Lucasfilm's executive director has been working on concepts for the show for the ꧙past few weeks. Apparently, so much work goes into creating each season of the show, work needs to start this far in advance.
As for what fans can expect from the third season, well, that is almost unpredictable right now. Most are still busy anticipating what season two might bring. Rosario Dawson is reported to ꧂have joined the cast to play Ahsoka Tano, which has naturally got fans very excited. What's more, by the time season two begins, Disney+ will be available to a lot more people. When season one aired, the service was still only available in the US.
