After a week in cinemas, Marvel has officially shared the Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness teaser that appears at the end of No Way Home. As the second secret ending, this is the first time we've been able to see the first trailer at home.

Without getting into No Way Home spoiler territory just yet, the teaser confirms that Strange is teaming up with Wanda Maximoffto to take on his most dangerous threat yet - himself. Evil Doctor Strange returns from his What If...? debut earlier in the year, making Benedict Cumberbatch an incredibly busy man over the pandemic. Warning, the rest of this article will delve into No Way Home spoilers.

Multiverse of Madness is set to follow on directly after the events of No Way Home, with Doctor Strange having a lot to answer for. Of course, given how no one in the world remembers who Peter Parker is, he literally doesn't have the answer to those questions.

Presumably as a result of the multiversal shenanigans of No Way Home, reality is falling apart a fair bit. Strange finds Wanda in the countryside she's been hiding in since the events of WandaVision, and seems to be coping quite a bit better than before - not a brainwashed town in sight.

However, the highlight of the trailer is Doctor Strange going head-to-head with... himself. And this isn't the fanservice-y kind of meeting your other universe self that we saw in No Way Home. "Thinks just got out of hand", says the evil Strange, indicating that he's playing a role in all the mess happening across the multiverse.

Incidentally, Multiverse of Madness is being directed by Sam Raimi, famously behind the original Spider-Man trilogy. His MCU debut is highly anticipated by those of us ancient enough (20 something) to remember the OG web-slinger films. It's set to hit theatres May 6, 2022 - Covid willing. It's the next film in the MCU lineup, so we're in for a bit of a wait.
