I don’t own a PS5. I’ve had the same secondhand PS4 since 2018 – not even a PS4 Pro. When the PS5 launched in 2020, I have to admit, I felt the mildest of desires to get one, but in hindsight, that was mostly just not wanting to miss out. It was far too expensive for me to purchase at the time, and even if I had wanted to, I wouldn’t have been able to get one. It’s only recently that we’ve begun to see PS5s in stores at all, which tracks since Sony is now trying to convince168澳洲幸运5开奖网: PS4 users to buy a PS5.
We’ve just heard news that the PS5 Pro is in development and is expected to be released in l๊ate 2024. Now, I’m not even sold on a PS5 yet – my PS4 works fine, apart from the jet engine volume roar that happens when I boot up a particularly graphics-intensive game. I don’t feel like I’m missing anything by not upgrading since the games play perfectly fine on the PS4, there are few next-gen exclusives, and the price is definitely off-putting. Before, I might have been pulled in by the PlaySta𝔍tion Plus Collection, but I cancelled my subscription months ago after signing up for PC Game Pass, which is far more value for money.
Sales of the PS5 are rising now, likely because they’re finally readily available for purchase in stores. also claimed that 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Final Fantasy 16 will only run properly on PS5, which is to be expected, as timed Playstation Exclusives are a norm for Final Fantasy 🐻games – exclusives will be a big factor in drawing players to the newer console. But if people aren’t even that keen on upgrading to a PS5, how is Sony going to promote the PS5 Pro, which will undoubtedly be more expensive?
By 2024, we may have 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:enough PS5-exclusive games that the console will actually be worth it – but the ones we have now are largely available on PC as well, like Last of Us Part 1 and the upcoming KOTOR remake 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:if it ever gets made, and some of them have already flopped (168澳洲幸运5开奖网:sorry, Forspoken). If anything, I’ll be looking forward to 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Spider-Man 2 this year, but nothing else in the lineup is that exciting to me. I am not dr🎐opping half a grand on a console to play one game.
Now that the PS5 Pro has been announced, people might be waiting for it to launch before opening their wallets. My gut says this could damage PS5 sales, which have only just stabilised – or people won’t want a PS5 Pro at all, after just being able to purchase the base 🐭version. I don’t know who is gearing up to drop what will likely be close to a grand on a gaming console that barely has any use, but I sure as hell am not. I know Sony is in the habit of releasing upgrades a few years after the base model of their consoles launch, but we’ve barely been able to easily buy this supposedly top-of-the-line tech – couldn’t they have waited a little longer before trying to sell us a slightly improved version for hundreds of dollars more?
