DOOM Eternal is burning up the charts angering parents and raising people's heart rates to extremes the likes of which have not been glimpsed since the 2016 original. With the shift from Mars to a 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:demonically ravaged Earth, the game has embraced a lot of new gameplay elements and creature ♔designs to offer players new experiences. The result is an impossibly fast-paced and pulse-pounding experience, even when compared to its 2016 predecessor. Needless to say, this is quite a feat to pull off considering the penchant for high-speed violence sported by the original r🌠eboot.

The sequel also comes with some demon redesigns, some of which are causing a bit of a stir within DOOM's fan community. Whether taken in a more original direction or a carefully crafted callback to the franchise's storied '90s origins, there's plenty to examine. It is for that very reason that today we're comparing 5 demon designs that look at a lot better in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:DOOM Eternal, and 5 where the 2016 version still takes the 🐬win.

10 ꦿ2016 DID IT BETTER: LOST SOUL 🌳

The design of the Lost Soul was based heavily on the original demon from classic DOOM, yet amped up with a lot more sharp, jagged bones and edges. DOOM 2016 introduced the refresh with the Lost Soul spꦜorting a red flame in its wake.

168澳洲幸运5开奖网:DOOM Eternal retains essentially the exact same character design, but has changed the flame wake to blue, for unspecified reasons. This detracts from the nostalgia factor, and truthfully, the blue flame simply doesn't look nearly as hellish as red, so we're giving DOOM 2016 the win, here.

9 ETERNAL DID IT BETTER: THE POSSES🍰SED

The humans that make up the Possessed take the forms of previous soldiers and staff, and they vary significantly between games. DOOM 2016 gave the Possessed a more alien looking appearance, which made it difficult to distinguish as anything other than another bipedal, projectile lobbing fꦕoe 🌌to destroy.

In contrast, DOOM Eternal's possessed are most definitely human in appearance, and far closer in spirit to classic DOOM than the 2016 versions - an absolutely delightful design direction for fans of the franchise's roots. They even retain some human elements, such as their ꦍwi♎llingness to battle the demon hordes just as easily as .

8 2016 DID IT 𒅌BETTER: IMPS

The DOOM 2016 Imps were an excellent redesign that appeared to take inspiration from Mass Effect's Vorcha race. DOOM Eternal's redesign is slight, but significant enough to be noticeab💟le.

DOOM 2016 takes the win here. The Imps are far more menacing in comparison to the tweaks made in Eternal, which abandoned the intimidating eye glow and gave them a more rusty appearance that somehow det🌺racts from their🅺 menace.

7 𝔉 ETERNAL DID IT BETTER: CACODEMON 🤡

The hardest demon to c﷽all is undoubtedly the Cacodemon. Both versions of the creature sport excellent designs that pa🎃y homage to the original, and both have their strengths and weaknesses.

In the end, DOOM Eternal's Cacodemon wins out by a hair, thanks largely to the addition of an eye pupil and some enhanced behavioral q♏ualities that really sell its evil nature, and provides a bit more visceral "eye candy" to soak in during glory kills.

6 2016 DID IT 𝔉BETTER: PI🌳NKY DEMON

There isn't a ton of difference between the two versions of the Pinky Demon, but Eternal does give the creature a slightly more reddish hue with some breath effects to sell its bestial na🌠ture.

Truthfully, it's hard to call a winner here, but the very fact that the Pinky made such a fantastic reappearance in DOOM 2016 is enough for it to edge itself to the front and claim the trophy. They really nailed it the first♈ time around, and the near lack of a true redesign here is a testament to that.

5 🍨 🍌 ETERNAL DID IT BETTER: MANCUBUS

The 2016 Mancubus was an interesting nod to the original design, sporting a more alien-type look in comparison to the original thuggish oaf design of the classic vi💙llain.

DOOM Eternal has redesigned the Mancubus to resemble the classic version more closely. This one was a hard toss-up, but the new design is simply a better nod to the original, making it a closer approximation in comparison to DOOM 2016.

4 ཧ2016 DID IT BETTER: REVENANT

DOOM Eternal's Revenant does look closer to the classic DOOM version of the creature, but in this case, DOOM 2016 wins out simply for having updated the deꦉsign into some✨thing much cooler.

The bloodied flesh and distressed look of the model is a far sight better than Eternal's squeaky-clean Revenant with comical yellow eyes. For that reason, DOOM 2016 gets the win.

3 ETERNAL DID IT BETTER: HELL KNIGHT 💃

The Hell Knight's 2016 design drew heavy inspiration from DOOM 3, and it wasn't particularly scary. DOOM Eternal takes that design and amps it up a bit by giving it a pair of beady yellow eyes and a much more vicious appearance♔.

It's a better design than 2016, while avoiding the palette swap approach of classic DOOM. Combined with its newf🎃ound increased aggression, th📖e Hell Knight is once again a foe to be reckoned with.

2 ⭕ 2016 DID IT BETTER: B🧸ARON OF HELL

The Baron of Hell made a glorious return in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:DOOM 2016 as a fulওl-fledged update of the original class🦩ic. It was bigger, beefier and far more aggressive than its source counterpart, and the predominant red styling was an excellent touch.

DOOM Eternal brings back the Baron in the form of the Fireborne, which abandons the organic composition of the original in favor of a cybernetic grayscale appearance. While an interesting touch, they're not quite as cool as DOOM 2016's take on the creature.

1 ꦑ ETERNAL DID IT BETTER: CYBERDEMON

The 2016 Cyberdemon wasn't anything special in terms of appearance. It could have easily been inserted into another shoot em' up title without anyone being the wiser. The design went for cool factor at the expense of pure fright, something which DOOM Eternal fixed.

The new Cyberdemon (now referred to as a Tyrant) is much more in line with the classic DOOM look, right down to the horns, the cybernetic leg and the weaponized arm. It looks far scarier in appearance than the 2016 version, giving itౠ the win.
