168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Doom 2016 shook the FPS landscape by returning to the core roots of what makes shooters fun. A lack of cutscenes, heavy exposition, or slow progression made Doom 2016 a fan favorite. 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Doom Eternal tries its own spin on more modern trends while paying homage to the original games that made it a name brand for 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:id Software.
It doesn't nail everything, but it certainly perfected the core combat loop of slaying demons as the Doomslayer. Thanks to the game's amazing selection of levels, Doom Eternal is a fantastic game to play again and again to hone your shooting skills and to have a good time. Here are the 10 best levels in Doom Eternal, ranked.
10 𓂃 Sꦐentinel Prime
While Doom Eternal's focus on storytelling might have alienated some fans of the series, Sen꧋tinel Prime's execution of storytelling and cutscenes is incredible.
There aren't many secrets or combat encounters in this level. Most of this level is spent uncovering the Doomslayer's past, how he became so p🎀owerful, and a test of his might with the intimidating Gladiator boss fight. The level might be short, but Sentine🅷l Prime is chocked full of lore and a satisfying boss fight.
9 Exultia
The first level of Doom Eternal provides a somewhat sour impression of the game'sꦏ revamped combat since players lack a proper dodg🍬e tool and most of their guns.
Exultia is the first level to provide the Doomslayer with the incredible dash ability, allowing him to quickly navigate arenas to avoid large chunks of damage. The game starts to show its true, brutal, strategic colors towards the halfway point of this level. As for the level itself, Exultia has 💟168澳洲幸运5开奖网:plenty of secrets for players to discover after they obtain their new movement ability.
8 Taras Nabad 🍷 ༒
Arch-viles make their debut in Taras Nabad, arguably one of the most difficult levels in the game. One of the first arenas takes place in a courtyard that is brutal on higher di𒊎fficulties.
If you can overcome this seemingly insurmountable challenge, the mission continues with environmental puzzles and more demon-slaying goodness. Towards the end of Taras Nabad, players obtain The Crucible, a powerful energy blade 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:that can insta🌌ntly kill nearly every enemy in the game. It might not work on unstaggered Marauders, but instantly killing Arch-viles or Cyber Manucbus de❀mons wi💃th a single swing never gets old.
7 Mars Core
If Doom 2016 taught players anything, you never say no to the Doomslayer. Sꦆamuel Hayden tells the player they need to get to the surfaceꦚ of Mars, but there is no straight forward path.
Doomslayer finds a way in Mars Core, a mission dedicated to shooting a hole through Mars itself using the almighty BFG 10000. If that doesn't sound metal enough, you fire yourself out of a cannon to navigate the devastated skybox later in the level. Of course, this is also the first level in Doom Eternal to bring the glorious BFG 9000 back into the player's hands. There is no other level in Doom Eternal with as epic of a scale as Mars Core.
6 A꧂rc Complex
Arc Complex is a great example of how Doom Eternal's more linear mi🎀ssion design isn't nec🍬essarily a step backward for the series. This level trades sprawling maze-like environments for pulse-pounding action.
From the first minute of this level, players are fighting a whole assortment of demons using every weapon at their disposal. The pacing of this level is near perfect, asking the Doomslayer to destroy two demon limbs blocking the way to Samuel Hayden's facility. There is little breathing room in this level, with most of this mission involving frantic arenas in the best way possible. When the game does give you a cutscene towards the end, it is followed up with a rather hard boss fight. Arc Complex is a blast to play through and relies little on Eternal's wall-climbing exploration gimmicks.
5 ♓ Cultist Base 💯
Movement mechanics are firing on all cylinders in Cultist Base, a level with a ton of platforming 🃏sections and arenas in-betwee💫n.
The environmeꦆnt immediately sets the stage, taking place on snow-covered mountains juxtaposing the demonic fortress players must infiltrate. Platforming is used intelligently here and shows just how quickly the Doomslayer can move, weaving between icy pillars and 🃏entire walls in a single jump.
4 Super Gore Nest 🌜
While the name of this level is hard to say with a straight face, Super Gore Nest is classic Doom level design, requiring the player to obtain three keys before ꦺfinishing the level.
Players navigate a maze-like level while searching for keys and secrets. This level is Doom Eternal firing on all cylinders, with engaging exploration. In fact, this level stays so true to the original game's level design that it could be ported to the older games and fit right in, excluding the platforming sections. For a series as renowned as Doom, that is a large compliment.
3 Doom Hunt♔er Base
Continuing from Cultist Base, Doom Hunter Base continues showcasingꦰ the game's great gunplay and tests the player's skill with a great final boss.
Leading up to the boss, players will find great opportunities to get acquainted with Doom Eternal's new sandbox. The final areas test your knowledge on ammo management by throwing plenty of Arachnotrons and Hell Knights your way. Complete that, and you will fight the Doom Hunter, a powerful cyberdemon that can take you down in seconds. Killing him once is no easy task, but the game asks you to do it again while fighting two at the same time. Few moments in Doom Eternal get the blood pumping quiꦺte as th🌃is boss encounter does.
2 Urdak
No Doom title has seen this type of jaw-dropping scenery before. Jumping across vast reaches🧔 of space and slaying possessed Maykrs is one of this campaign's highlight♏s.
Some would argue that it is so different that it isn't Doom anymore, but that is what makes this one-off level so incredible. Combat encounters don't hold back and neither does the speed of traversing the level. The final boss is no pushover, either, testing the player's usage of monkey bars and aerial control to stay alive. It would be the best level in most other video games, but Doom Eternal has one more trick up its sleeve.
1 Final Sin
The final level of Doom Eternal is also its best. Everything you have learned through the campaign has culminated to this moment. Doom expects you to give it everything you have because the game i🐭sn't going to hold back at all.
Right off the bat, you are thrown into an exhilarating combat encounter with multiple Pain Elementals, Tyrants, Pinkys, and dozens of weaker enemies on a small rooftop. It only gets crazier from there, fighting two dozen demons at once all buffed by totems or summoned by Arch-viles. Marauders frequently appear to halt your progress, and that's before you even fight the final boss. The Icon of Sin is significantly more fun to fight in Doom Eternal than its Doom 2 counterpart, having actual mechanics and telegraphs tied to it. If there is one level that perfectly encapsulates Doom Eternal, it's Final Sin.
