However, before we begin our next rampage across the plains of Hell, we should brush up on the lore of the Doom franchise. Who knows what helpful tidbits will assist in our understanding of ripping and tearing demons? Plus, the background story of Doom is interesting in its own right. Read on if you want to know more about the lore of Doom before .

10 💃 ꦇ Argent D'Nur Was Once A "Realm" Like Earth

One of the final areas gamers were brought to in Doom (2016) was the hellish place called Argent D'Nur. This broken-up landscape used to be a realm separate from Hell. It was filled with humanoid creatures who resisted Hell's incursion. Unfortunately, one of the residents of Argent D'Nur, known only as the Betrayer, worked with the demons to bring about the downfall of his realm. Given what we've seen of Doom Eternal, we wouldn't be surprised if a similar fate befell Earth. 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Trailers make it clear tha🙈t the demons𝓡 are heartily attacking Earth's realm in this new game.

9 🐻 Argent Energy Comes From 🎐Elemental Wraiths

The whole reason humanity, via the Union Aerospace Corporation (UAC), tried exploiting Hell was for Argent Energy. This otherworldly source of energy powered humanity's many technological systems. This energy actually comes from the Eleme꧒ntal Wraiﷺths of Argent D'Nur. When Hell's forces took over Argent D'Nur, they corrupted the Wraiths and turned them into the Well, an enduring source of energy. The Wraiths were once godlike beings that the people of Argent D'Nur revered, and their corruption laid the foundation for their realm's downfall. If the UAC is still trying to use Argent Energy, we might see the Wraiths again.

8 The✤ Icon Of Sin Is The Son Of🐬 The Betrayer

The Betrayer is mentioned in many pieces of lore players can pick up in Doom (2016). He was once a Night Sentinel of Argent D🧜'Nur. However, he betrayed his brothers by making a deal with some Hell Priests. In exchange for bringing his son back to life, the Betrayer promised to lead them to the Elemental Wraiths.

The Hell Priests did end up giving the Betrayer his son back, but they turned him into a monstrous being known as the Icon of Sin. This massive creature's remains have been seen in several Doom games, and we're hoping he makes a full-body return as a boss in DOOM Eternal.

7 ♚ When Hell Conquers A Realm, They Drag It 🦋Into Hell

From what we've seen of the many landscapes of Hell, it is a realm composed of chunks of floating islands. The reason Hell feels so broken up is because each time demons take over another realm, they bring it back to Hell in pieces. This is what ended up happening to Argent D'Nur. It's a plausible reason for why the game is such a platforming nightmare. In Doom Eternal, we might see pieces of Earth floating around ܫin Hell as well. Given the terrible state things look to be in t🥂hroughout the various trailers, that seems a very likely case.

6 The Doo꧋m Slayer Is Connected To The Night Sentiꦛnels

Not much is revealed about the origin of the Doom Slayer. The manner in which he tore through Hell, destroying every demon in his path, is detailed in some expository floating rocks when players are traveling through Hell. (They're very ego-boosting accounts of the Doom Slayer's adventures.) However, his tr🔥ue origin appears to be a bit of a mystery. Still, there seems to be a connection between the Doom Slayer and the Night Sentinels of Argent D'Nur. When trying to access the Well and obtain the Crucible, ghostly figures of the Night Sentinels show up around the Doom Slayer, giving him respectful gestures.

5 ⛄ Po💝ssessed Are Former Humans Controlled By Demons

Possessed are some of the lowest forms of enemies you can encounter while playing Doom. Single pistol shots to the head are enough to take them down. In their codex entries, the Possessed are revealed to be former humans. They were taken over by demonic entities when the initial Lazarus Wave was created. Doom Eternal takes place in various settings that look to be closely associated with Earth. Odds are we'll run into more Poss🌳essed.

4 Exploding Lost Souls Are Trying To Possess You 🦩 🍬

One of the most annoying types of enemies you can encounter in Doom (2016) are Lost Souls. They are floating skulls whose only purpose seems to be crashing int🔥o you, exploding on impact, an🔴d draining more than half your shields.

It's interesting to note, however, that these explosions have a purpose. Lost Souls ar🔯e trying to possess you when they smash into you. (They don't want to be hovering souls anymore.) Those explosions create mini-waves of Hell energy that, if they kill you, allow them to possess you.

3 ܫ Samuel Hayden Was The Last To Hav🦩e The Crucible

The last scene we see in Doom (2016) is Samuel Hayden trapping Doomguy and taking the Crucible from him. It's not known what exactly happens after that, but we can count on Doom Eternal explaining what happened between the previous game and itself. If you are to remember anything about the story from Doom (2016), it's that the Crucible was last seen in Hayden's possession. From gameplay we've seen of the new🐬 game, the Crucible looks to𒊎 be pretty important.

2 Th꧙e Spiderdemon Controls Thꩵe Cyberdemons

The Spiderdemon is 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the last boss fight of Doom (2016). However, mention of this creature occurs way before we actually encounter it. While reading codex entries about the Cyberdemon, it is heavily implied that the Spiderdemon has some degree of control over the actions of the Cyberdemon. The entry mentions that a "mastermind" intelligence could be behind the Cyberdemon's attacks. And any Doom🅺 fan worth their salt knows Spiderdemons are also ca꧂lled Spider Masterminds.

1 🧸 Barons Of Hell Serve A Master More Powerful Than Them

Barons of Hell are one of the toughest enemies the Doom Slayer can face. But their codex entry reveals that an even darker foe could be lurking behind them. The Barons of Hell are part of a Royal Guard protecting a dark lord of Hell. We never see this "dark lord" in Doom (2016), but we're hoping we run into him/her in Doom Eternal. It would definitely be a boss fight for the ages, one that makes any encounter wi💦th a Baron of Hell seem like happy-fun playtime.
