If we're being totally honest with you, we found it incredibly difficult to find even a single thing wrong with 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Doom Eternal. Bethesda Softworks and id Soft𝕴ware's latest hell-razing escapade is glorious. It's a gaming experience that embraces what it is.

The fast-paced, first-person shooter like no other has released at a time when humanity could really use an entertaining distraction. And boy, has Doom Eternal delivered. Being the Doom Slayer has never been so engrossing. That said, let's take a closer look at the game, with all its highs and lows. Read on if you want to know the best and worst things about (the practically perfect) Doom Eternal.

10 WORST: You Can't Decide When To Use A 1-Up 🅘

Doom Eternal incorporates a delightful mechanic in which players can acquire 1-Ups, an extra life that allows an instant respawn upon death so that yo🅠u don't have to resta꧅rt from the last checkpoint. Unfortunately, these things are used up automatically. If you die and you had a 1-Up saved, it will be used. So let's say you "accidentally" messed with some Cacodemons and they ended up killing you more than once, you will have wasted all of your lives before a later encounter with two Barons of Hell. These 1-Ups would have been better incorporated into the game if players could choose whether or not to use them during an encounter.

9 🍨 BEST: The Music

Any fan of Doom (2016) knows who Mick Gordon is. He is the god of video game soundtracks. He created the blood-pumping music for the game, and he's back for Doom Eternal. The Doom series has long empowered players with its frenetic gameplay, and Gordon's music underlines that sentiment. Even if you're struggling to beat a certain portion of the game, t꧙he music encourages you to continue on as it pulses, revs, and shrieks it way along.

8 🧸 WOR🗹ST: Platforming

The platforming in Doom Eternal isn't terrible, but first-person platforming is not exactly a thing we have very high on our gamer wishlist. The Doom Slayer must climb walls, hop from sinking platform to sinking platform, and dash his way across various maps in Doom Eternal, and while this is a nice breather from com꧑ܫbat, it can be frustrating.

No one comes to the Doom franchise for platforming. We come for the polished gameplay and rush of adrenaline after clearing an arena🍰. And having the Doom Slayer die just because he didn't grab onto a pole properly can be annoying.

7 ﷽ BEST: The Metal, Gory, And Goofy Style

While some players don't appreciate Doom Eternal's more campy aspects, we consider it one of the game's strengths. Instead of striving to be a more realistic shooter 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:like nearly every other FPS game on the market, Doom Eternal embraces the stylish facets of being a video game. It waves its metal and gore style in our faces like a banner, and we can appreciate this aesthetic. Besides, what with the game being so fast-paced, having demons drop 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:brightly neon-colored ammo containers makes them easier to see and pick up.

6 💙 WORST: Swimming 𝐆

No game in the history of gaming has been improved with an underwater level, and Doom Eternal is no exception. The Taras Nabad mission features a swimming section, and we were none too pleased with it. As with the platforming, it's not the worst we've ever seen. But water puzzles in a Doom game feel alien. , but this swimming portion is a definite low point. It is a section gamers a꧟re eager to leave behind so that they can move on to something with a little m🍬ore of that sweet, sweet combat.

5 🌄 BEST: Divingไ Deeper Into Lore

Doom (2016) surprised gamers with the inclusion of lore about the Doom Slayer, the UAC, and Hell itself. However, the lore did not intrude on the player's time gaming. You had to access the Codex to read up on it, allowing players to choose if and when they caught up on  the story. Doom Eternal continues this same tradition, but with even more lore available to read. As personal fans of Doom's lore, this could not please us more. The creation of the Sentinels, the 𓆏history of Argent D'Nur, and the Doom Slayer's own🍸 backstory make for some intriguing reading time.

4 WORST: Increased Complexity O🌟f Upgrade Sꦏystems

While spending a few minutes to read up on the Doom Slayer's history isꦑ all fine and dandy, slogging through various menus to upgrade weapons, r꧑unes, and suit tokens felt a tad unnecessary.

Part of the appeal of the original Doom was its focus on combat, and adding even more complicated upgrade systems to the ones from Doom (2016) feels like the opposite route Doom Eternal should havꩵe taken. Navigating these menus, however, is a fairly small price to pay for boosting your abilities as tꦯhe Doom Slayer.

3 BEST: The Speed ✤

One of the main things fans return to the Doom franchise for is the speed. You don't hide and take cover in Doom. You run forward, guns blazing, without a moment's hesitation. It should be common knowledge for gamers at this point that if you stop moving in Doom Eternal, you are signing your own death certificate. There isn't even a sprint option in Doom Eternal because you're already moving at top-notch speed. No aiming down the sights, no reloading, no crouching. Everything in Doom Eternal's💞 gameplay has been designed to make the pla🐈yer a speed demon.

2 𝕴 WORST: Player Separation From The Slayer

Doom Eternal made the bold choice of separating players from the Doom Slayer. The voiceless protagonist used to be the perfect vehicle for players to inhabit. Because he had no real history, players were meant to fully immerse themselves in his role. That's changed in Doom Eternal, and while it was a dariꦜng choice for developers, we believe it wasn't the best one to make. By giving the Doom Slayer more agency as a character, the game robs the players of a little bit of theirs.

While it might not seem like it at first, the gameplay in Doom Eternal has changed from what it was in 2016. Enemies are more bullet-spongier than ever, forcing players to actually concentrate on weak spots. This makes the dance of Doom even deadlier than before, with players having to juggle ammo concerns, weapon usage, health, armor and environmental hazards all while trying to take down 𝕴the demons in front of them. It's tough, ruthless, and unrelenting. And damn if that's why we ﷽don't love the hell out of it.
