Just when you thought nothing from the original Doom games💖 could scare or surprise you, a new elaborate mod has added Margaret Thatcher to the game.
Doom has been tweaked and toyed with relentlessly over the decades, usually so that it can be played on a calculator or 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:16 billion crabs. However, a new mod called Thatcher's Techbase has majorly added to the original games. It adds what its creator calls “The Tenth Circle of Hell” or as it is more commonly referred to, the United Kingdom.
Whether you think that moniker is accurate or not, the UK you'll traverse in Thatcher's Techbase won't be familiar to anyone. Along with enemies and obstacles players of Doom will be familiar with, the game also includes a resurrected version of former British prime minister, Margaret Thatcher, as the name of the game implies.
You are tasked with tracking down Thatcher and sending her back to hell, which will not be easy. Created by 3D: Doom Daddy Digital, Thatcher's Techbase has five different difficulty levels, co-op in case you understandably don't want to face off against an undead Thatcher alone, and even deathmatch support. Plus, a completely original soundtrack put together with help from the composer of Paradise Killer's OST, Barry Topping.
British MPs and first-person-shooters from the 1990s aren't two things you would normally discuss in the same sentence. However, Thatcher's Techbase adds to what is an already ongoing conversation in that regard. Dan Douglas recreated the elaborate floorplan of Matt Hancock's office published earlier this year using Duke Nukem 3D's builder. The project has grown since then and 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:now includes a remastered Greggs.
If Thatcher's Techbase sounds like your kind of Doom, then there's even more good news. It's absolutely free to anyone who wants to give it a whirl. It can be played on PC, Mac, Linux, Wii, 3DS, and any of the other items from the long list of weird and wonderful things people have managed to run Doom on. It launches September 24, 2021, and can be downloaded via . You will need a limit-removing Doom source port and a copy of Doom 2 in order to play it.
