Smash Ultimate's final major update has now taken hold. While the biggest takeaway is the arrival of Sora, fans of certain other games are celebrating something else.

Sora has🤪 officially arrived in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as of this week. That means the biggest roster in S🅠mash Bros. his﷽tory is now complete. Masahiro Sakurai is sticking to his word and Nintendo will not be adding any more fighters to the game. Bad news for those of you hoping Crash Bandicoot, Master Chief, and Waluigi would eventually join the fight.

Although Kingdom Hearts fans were the ones weeping joyfully during the special Direct earlier this month, Doom fans were thrown a consolation prize. Doomguy was added to the game in the form of a Mii Fighter costume. It's not the same as the character making its full debut in Smash, but its better than nothing.

It ജalso means Smash players have been a🌃ble to bring some 18-month-old memes to life in-game. In March 2020, Doom Eternal and Animal Crossing: New Horizons launched on the same day. Two genuine Game of the Year contenders which is why the two titles, which are polar opposites, were compared and contrasted endlessly at the time and in the weeks that followed.

The most fun thing to emerge from the games going head-to-head was the fanmade romance between Doomguy and Isabelle. Two very different characters from completely different worlds, bound by a release date but unab🦹le to meet. Well, thanks to Smash Ultimate, now they can. In fact, the two of them can now be together forever. Smash players have been having fun with the two ever since the update went live, sharing screenshots of Doomguy and Isabelle on the same stage and e🌱ven teaming up.

The best reaction of all was from Bethesda. The Doom developer posted a screenshot of the two looking into each other's eyes, captioning it “together at last”. Animal Crossing is yet to post a screenshot of its own reciprocating those feelings, despite its Twitter account literally being named Isabelle. Let's hope, after all of this, Isabelle isn't preparing to break poor DoomGuy's heart.
