BioWare's hit fantasy RPG series 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Dragon Age has always been filled with unique cities, forests, and other kinds ofও areas. But no game in this series has as many unique and exotic locales as Dragon Age: Inquisition.
Since players travel to all corners of the continent of Thedas throughout the game, no two areas are aliꦗke. Most of the areas in the game are stunning and memorable -- chock full of interesting quests and secrets to uncover. Of course, some areas have things like hidden Chantry routes and a ghost to find. Others merely have captivating weather and structures that offer ✨less narrative impact.
Updated on August 16, 2021, by Juliet Childers: Though many players lamented the presence of the Hinterlands in the game, the location itself really wasn't that bad. However, it paled in comparison to some of the other beautiful and sweeping locales the player visits. Here are the 10 best areas in Dragon Age: Inquisition.
NOTE: This article includes spoilers for the Dragon Age: Inquisition base game and all of its DLC.
10 Skyhold - Seat Of Andraste's Herald
It may seem a bit on the nose to say that Skyhold is one of the best areas in Inquisition, but it is. 𝔍Think about it: an old Elven castle tucked away in the sky amid the mountains. Totally defensible, full ♎of secrets, and infinite jumping off rooftops with no fall damage.
Once the player has fully customized Skyhold, it becomes a lively location full of people. Completing merchant quests can further fill out the location and it never gets old overhearing random conversations. The location is made more special by the people in it and 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:its importance to the Inquisition.
9 ღ 🌳 The Still Ruins
It's tough to get a desert area in a video game right without it feeling boring, but Dragon Age: Inquisition knocked it out of the park with the Western Approach. There's just so much to see and do in this area including a temple that time seems to have forgotten: The Still Ruins.
The peculiar, but awesome time-stopping magic field keeping the ruins frozen makes for a memorable journey to, as you'd expect, resuming time. But being able to walk through an ongoing battle between Tevinter soldiers, mages, and demons is next level. Curiously, the party also finds an Elven artifact there...
8 🎉 The Emerald Graves
The Emerald Graves is arguably the most stunningly gorgeous area in the game with its vibrant forests. When you also take into consideration the quests and landmarks in t𝓡he area, the ▨Emerald Graves is easily one of the best areas, as a whole, in the game.
O𒆙ne of the most notable area quests is helping a group of Orlesian refugees being harassed by Orlesian army deserters. It really makes the player feel like the Inquisition is doing some good in Thedas. Plus, the Graves have tremendous narrative importance as each tree represents the soul of a slain Elf.
7 🔯 The Shattered Libra💖ry
The Trespasser DLC felt like part of the main game that BioWare shipped as DLC, but that didn't make it any less fun to play. You visit the Darvaraad in Seheron, play detective once more, and chase Solas through Eluvians. That's what leads you to the remnants of Vir Dirthara and the Shattered Library.
The developers realized a space caught betweenꦕ spaces -- a place sundered from the real world, but not quite beyond the Veil. It existed because of the Eluvians and the Archivist helps the party to understand it just a little. Exploring a place so brimming with magic and history is what Dragon Age is all about.
6 The Raw Fade 🎃
On the opposite end of the "brimming with magic" spectrum, there's the Raw Fade during the Fear Demon section of the game. While some of it seems innocuous enough such as statues, you soon encounter things like a cemetery with gravestones for all of your companions. They read their names and what they fear will be their ultimate downfall.
Spiders, of course, make an appearance as they always do when regarding the Fade. But the attention to detail with the visuals, sound design, enไemies, and character manipulations is just S-tier. Not since Origins have fans gotten such an intimate🦋 view of the Fade.
5 The Winter Palace ℱ
In direct contrast, the Winter Palace is a place of lavish indulgence where💜 the fangs hide behind smiles and 🍎fine clothes. The narrative intrigue and mini-detective story made the location all the more fun for players.
But beyond the fashionable nobles, the court approval, and the hushed liaisons, there is the sobering fact that this place and Orlesian royalty is built on Elven blood and their city of Halamshiral. All of that combined makes🐈 this one of the best areas in Inquisition.
4 Chateau d'Onterre
The Emerald Graves is a haunted enough location given its 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:history with the Elves and Orlesians. But the optional abandoned Chateau d'Onterre makes that ominous looming feeling far more visceral. It all starts with stumbling upon it as you explore the area and soon leads to an unsettling discovery.
There are corpses roaming the estate everywhere, a giant fake dragon, and eerie accounts of a child who clearly became possessed by a demon. It's a fantastic and easily missed area that hearkens back to quests like the Werewolves in Origins.
3 🍒 Basti✤on Of The Pure
The Descent DLC wasn't too inventive in its gameplay as it was mostly just exploring similarly designed maps over and over again. However, the vistas of the underground caverns were next level with raw lyrium pulsing everywhere.
Once the player breaches the Titan's throne, however, it becomes no contest regarding this location's beauty and majesty. The architecture is totally different, there is light everywhere, and then there's the huge, thrumming Titan heart. But more than its eerie beauty, there are the questions the location raised about 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:what is going to happen in DA4.
2 💝 🏅 The Altar Of Mythal
Mythal's temple is cool enough by itself with its frustrating puzzles, deteriorating stonework, and ivy growing everywhere. But it's when you reach the altar and the Well of Sorrows that its ominous beauty really overtakes the player.
Though you spend little time there, the narrative implications are massive and you get to see a dope dragon, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:some ancient Elves, and list🥂en to Solas and Morrigan bicker endlessly.
1 Emprise Du Lion (Across Judicael's Crossing)
Players will remember most of the Emprise Du Lion as a Red Templar-infested area of snow and not much else. That is until you repair the bridge at Judicael's Crossing; after that, you gain access to an area full of ruins and dragons.
It's home to the Pools of Sun, Judicael's Ring, and Leontine's Ring locations that, though run-down, are gorgeous in their ruination. The dragon are optional, but what an arena for a dragon fight.
