Class Builds For Nightmare Mode
With the right build, any class can do a Nightmar🏅e playthrough.
However, if you're looking for the most-recommended builds and don't have a personal preference, ranged classes such as archer and mage are cited as best. Since the high difficulty specifically buffs enemy stats, these classes don't require you to get close to them. Instead, you can send tanks like Cassandra and Blackwall to the front lines. However, many players have beaten Nightmare with a Champion Warrior build. Other favorite specializations of Nightmare players include Tempes꧒t, Kni🦄ght Enchanter, and Assassin.
The first 10 levels are the hardest. Once the player can choose a specialization, tho🌼ugh, the sailing will go a little smoother.
Mage
🐼168澳洲幸运5开奖网:All the mage specializations have their perks. Rift Mages are extremely adept at crowd control, which is important if you're staying back and aiding your tanks. Necromancers have shambling creatures to help out, which is nice to add extra chaos to a scene. The Knight Enchanter route can almost turn a mage into a warrior after a fashion, because it gives you access to a huge magical⛄ blade.
Our specialization suggestion is for you to be a Knight Enchanter. It was incredibly overpowered when the game launched, and that was fixed in a patch, but it's still a hard-hitter. Just make sure you have some experience playing the mage class on an easier difficulty first, Knight Commander or otherwise, because it requires a lot of finesse and moving between mid- and long-range combat.
Tips
- The Fade Shield skill (part of the Knight Enchanter tree) gives you a barrier that is regenerated when you attack, so you should invest in the Spirit tree to strengthen it.
- Resurgence is your last-resort panic button.
- Fade Step in the Winter tree is incredibly helpful for maneuvering battlefields since you'll be jumping between short- and medium-range combat.
- Energy Barrage in the Storm tree can allow you to weaken your opponents even further before delivering a final blow.
Warrior
The Warrior can unleash thei♔r strength ful⭕ly with these specializations. The Reaver is an intimidating choice that can't help but evoke a barbarian's rage. Templars are all about combating magic (and, ho boy, is there a lot of that in Inquisition). The Champion is the definition of a tank.
The Champion is the build we suggest for any players trying to complete a run on Nightmare difficulty as a warrior.!t can't beat any other build in terms of pure survivability!
Tips
- Prioritize abilities and skills from the Champion and Vanguard trees.
- War Cry from the Vanguard tree is your taunt; use it at the start of every fight to get the attention of your foes. In the middle of fights, opt for Challenge, which targets a single opponent and will help your stamina generation.
- Bear Mauls the Wolves from the Weapon and Shield tree means that you won't be affected by flanking damage, even if you don't opt for a sword-and-shield build.
Rogue
Rogues get access to thℱree equally devious s🉐pecializations. Assassins hide in the shadows, attacking their opponents when they least suspect it. Artificers set traps that will ultimately be their demise. Tempests embrace chaos and throw their dꩲev꧒astating elixirs into the mix.
There's a lot of debate about whether the Assassin or the Tempest is the best choice on Nightmare difficulty. Here, we're going to suggest the Tempest build. It gives you a lot of different options, since it works well with 𒉰daggers and bows, and can be used at a variety of different ranges.
Tips
- The Flask of Fire skill means your abilities won't use up stamina for a time, and the Unquenchable Flames upgrade means that they don't have a cooldown, either. Use this to spam your favorite damaging abilities.
- The Sabotage tree pairs well with Tempest; the Looked Like It Hurt skill helps you get more stamina and the Throwing Blades with Precision Targeting upgrade can stack damage like nobody's business.
- Whether you play with a bow or daggers, Evade will come in handy for maneuvering the battlefield.
Use The Golden Nug
What Is The Golden Nug?
The Golden Nug also only becomes available to a player after they beat their first playthrough (no matter its difficulty) and then interact with the statue. With that interaction, the statue will synchronize all your collectibles across other playthroughs. This in✃cludes your mounts, potion rec𒊎ipes, schematics, nursery seeds, and Skyhold customization items.

It is important to know that the Golden Nug was introduced in a pat♋ch of the game, so PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of Inquisition do not have it at their disposal.
Why Is It So Great?
The Golden Nug makes a huge difference to a nightmare playthrough. Getting the schematics and potion recipes early on in a nightmare playthrough is an edge a lot of players are grateful for. Gear can make a huge difference, so be sure to immediately start crafti💟ng the best gear with the schematics the Golden Nug brings from your previous runs.
That means it's extra important not to ignore War Table Missions. Those can get you resources to help craft things when you're using schematics you should have gotten later in the game.
Best Companions For Nightmare
In normal or easy difficulty, you do not often have to think too hard about party set-up. 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:You can just choose your favorite cha🔯racters outside of skill c♐oncerns. Howeve🦂r, that is not the case for Nightmare mode. Party set-up can decide between victory and constant death.
Nightmare parties should generally consist of a tank to draw aggro, two DPS for damage, and a support character to heal and make barriers. Of course, this is not set in stone, but it should give you a general idea of what to look🌌 for. Who you take will partially depend on what build you chose for your Inquisitor.
A few suggestions...
- Sera is usually preferred when looking for a long-range rogue over Varric, since she is less prone to falling in combat.
- For a daggers rogue, go for Cole.
- Vivienne is excellent with ice magic and shields.
- Iron Bull can pull off a lot of damage if there's someone around to buff him, but may need to be micromanaged.
- Blackwall is a very effective Tank.
Setting Tactics And Behaviors
Dragon Age games have always given you options for the tactics and behaviors of their companions on the battlefield. There are definitely certain settings you should utilize when attempting a Nightmare run.
Outside of these settings, the player should be prepared to sometimes micromanage during combat. While the AI's are pretty smart, you will still want to sometimes move the mages out of melee range.
Mana/Stamina Reserve
This setting determines how much mana or stamina a character's AI will keep in reserve while fighting. So, when you switch control to that character, they can always have a certain amount of mana or stamina ready for you to poಞp their abilities. In Inquisition, you can set the mana and stamina reserve up higher so that you can pop more abilities that require a lot of mana and stamina.
Targeting Behavior
A popular trick is to set all of the DPS characters, such as rogues and mages, to follow the tank character. This means that in fights, aᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚll of your fighters will stay close to the tank. Ultimately, it will make it easier for the tank to draw aggro and prevent the DPS from taking damage.
Set Certain Abilities To Preferred
Set important abilities to be preferred by the AI. These are abilities that you want your companions to use whenever they can.
A good example of this is to have all the tank's taunt abilities, such as Challenge or War Cry, set to preferred so that they are casting it often enough to keep damage off of other party members.
Set Certain Abilities To Disabled
Disabling some abilities will ensure your companions do not automatically set off huge abilities with slow cool-down times. Instead, they will not use them 🌌and you can decide manually when they are used in battle whenever you take control of that character. Also, you will want to disable abilities🦩 that just are not useful.
Combat
Outside tactics and behaviors, there are a couple of things to keep in mind.
Potions
Potions are a big deal. In Nightmare mode, you want to use a ton of potions. The very first perk you want to get is More Healing Potions which can be found under the Forces tab. That way, you will have 12 healing potions at your disposal instead of just eight. Before battles, go to Inquisition camps to constantly restock potions - not just healing ones! The Jar of Bees potion is a great asset to combat.
Combos
Nightmare-mode players will want to read up on possible combos that their abilities can do. Combos result in extra damage. It is just a two-step process, first with a disabling spell like Sleep or Freeze and then a detonator ability like Shield Bas⛎h or Long Shot.
Crowd Control
Last but not least, the player will want to maintain crowd control. This is what makes mages a popular class, as they are the masters of crowd control with spells like Pull of the Abyss and Ice Wall. With crowd control, you can make sure enemies are where you want them to be.
