Hawke, the player character from Dragon Age 2, is finally getting to sit a game out. In a Discord Q&A with fans, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Dragon Age: The Veilguard devs confirm that Hawke is not part of the story this time around, even if they've survived this long.

Instead, 168澳洲幸运5开奖✱网:the Inquisitor will be part of the story, with players able to recreate them in the character creator. This is similar to how 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Dragon Age: Inquisition handled Hawke's appearance, as they took part in a few quests alongside the new protag.

Don't Expect To See Hawke In Dragon Age: The Veilguard

Alistair And Hawke In Dragon Age Inquisition

This isn't too surprising. Of course (spoiler alert for Dragon Age: Inquisition) it's very possible your Hawke isn't even alive anymore. At the end of their questline, you, your companions, Hawke, and a Grey Warden (it can either be Alistair, Loghain, or Stroud) end up in the Fade. To cut a long story short, someone has to sacrifice themselves so the rest can escape. This can either be the Warden or Hawke.

So, if Hawke was going to play a role in the story, BioWare would have to work around the fact that they might still be stuck in the Fade. Or, more realistically, dead. The devs haven't ruled out Hawke getting mentioned though, so we might get an update on what happened to them after the events of Inquisition.

As for the other protagonist, the Warden, that's unclear. They haven't been ruled out, but since they're the only one who isn't fully voice-acted, that would be much harder to pull off in a way that's respectful of their appearance in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Dragon Age: Origins. We've heard bits and pieces about what they're up to - again, if they're still alive - in Dragon Age 2 and Inquisition, so it will probably be much the same in The Veilguard. At the very least, we might get an update on how their quest is going, as they aim to prevent the Calling that eventually claims the lives of all Wardens.

The Warden better hurry with that cure - the Q&A also confirmed that there's a ten-year jump from Inquisition to The Veilguard. That's 22 years after the events of Origins.

In any case, we should get some more answers soon. Dragon Age: The Veilguard is set to launch this fall, and was 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:only just unveiled 🌼at Summer Game Fest. So,ಌ we can expect more trailers and details to be sha🐈red in the run-up to that release window.
