What Happens If You Fight Mythal - How To Defeat Mythal's Retribution
If you 'fail' this conversation, you fight Mythal's Retribution - a dragon.However, this dragon is not required for the Bringing Down The Sky Trophy/Achievement, despite being a High Dragon. It does, however, have excellent rewards: 300 Lords of Fortune strength, three Dragonfire Catalyst, 11 Ethric Remnant, a Caretaker Memento worth 200, and A Pale Reflection amulet. And you still get the Essence, so it might be worth saving, giving the 'nice' answers, then reloading and fighting. This will ensure you get Clear Minds And Open Hearts, the rewards, and the Essence itself.
As for fighting Mythal's Retribution, it's a highly aggressive lightning dragon, but is Vulnerable to Necrotic, so take Lucanis of Emmrich with you. Someone who can Detonate for high Stagger is also useful, so Harding, Davrin, or Taash should be the other choice. Since it doesn't summon mobs, you need to avoid its lightning beams and bombs, rush in and attack its legs when they glow, and save your Ultimate until it Staggers, then aim at its underbelly.
