168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Dragon Age fans think that Taash, a new character introduced in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:The Veilguard, might be non-binary. This comes after promotional material for the game has repeatedly referred to them using they/them pronouns, including yesterday's breakdown of all of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:The Veilguard's companions.

This would make Taash the first non-binary character in the series, as well as the first known trans companion. This could also tie into Taash's story arc, as we've been told that this will centre around them trying to find where they belong in the world, focussing heavily on introspection and becoming "at peaceไ" with who they are.

Taash From Dragon Age: The Veilguard Might Use They/Them Pronouns

While this hasn't been confirmed, many fans picked up on the fact that The Veilguard's director, Corinne Busche, referred to Taash with they/them pronouns in the character breakdown shared by IGN yesterday. This is not the first time fans have suspected this, having previously pointed out that BioWare seems to avoid using any pronouns for Taash.

However, official material for the game has referred to Taash with she/her pronouns as well, including the on the EA website. With this in mind, 𒀰it's possible that Taash either discovers their identity during the events of the game, or uses b✅oth she/her and they/them pronouns interchangeably.

While this would make Taash the first known trans companion, they would not be the first trans character in the series. In 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Dragon Age: Inquisition, we met Krem, a trans man. There's also Maevaris, a trans woman introduced in the comic Dragon Age: Those Who Speak. She's set to make her game debut in The Veilguard, with Busche confirming her appearance in a recent Q&amﷺ𒊎p;A with fans.

Taash is also, of course, a Qunari. It hasn't been stated whether or not they follow the Qun, but if they are indeed non-binary, this could influence how they feel about the culture. Tꦑhe Qun has been shown to have a different approach to gender than the rest of Thedas, with set roles for men and women. However, as we learned in Inquisition, the Qun is accepting of trans people, and refers to them as "Aqun-Athlok". This term can also be used for any woman who is able to fulfil roles assigned to men, like being a soldier, or vice versa. This acceptance might not extend to non-binary people, however, as they wouldn't be conforming to the roles assigned to either men or women in the Qun.

It remains to be seen if this is an area of Qunari society that The Veilguard explore꧅, or if Taash is even non-binary in the first place. At the very least, we'll find out soon, as The Veilguard launches on October 31.
