What's a Dragon Ball game without flashy special moves? Giant, explosive beams are part of the franchise's DNA, and  doesn't skimp on the Kamehamehas. Kakarot also happens to be an RPG, though, which means it has more to offer than the techniques we've heard screamed a thousand times. Players can earn and upgrade attacks throughout the game. Here are all the ways you can get new moves in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot.

Learn Them Through The Story

This is the easiest and most obvious method. Certain attacks like the Spirit Bomb are tied to particular moments in Dragon Ball Z history. As such, Goku and friends will learn them when the story gets to the right point. That said, you will have to tak🀅e it upon yourself to equip the new moves. Go to the Party menu and select "Super Attack Palette" for the character in question and assign the attack to a button.

Spending Z Orbs In The Super Attack Tree

A major portion of Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot's RPG elements are seen in the Super Attack Tree. Eating meals and the Community Boards handle the increase of stats. The Community Board in particular is sort of like picking your class in a traditional RPG, in that it lets you decide which mechanics you'd like to focus on. Super Attacks are like weapons, and as an RPG Kakarot gives you somꦦe ab🦩ility to customize how you use your weapons.

The Super Atta🅷ck Tree is how you upgrade your "weapons." This does come at a cost, namely a literal cost to yo💦ur Z Orb stash. Thankfully, Z Orbs are plentiful. They're literally floating around everywhere you look. As long as you fly through them every time you're going to and from quest locations, you should have a healthy stock.

To ཧupgrade an attack in the Super Attack Tree, just select the circle under or next to it. You can only upgrade to something directly connected by a line. The next circle will display the Z Orb cost, and as long as you're willing to pay, you can upgrade! Some upgrades will even lead to brand new attacks later down the tree. Of course, the tree will only let you get so far at once.

Reach Certain Levels

Even if you're rich in Z Orbs,♈ you'll quickly hit a stopping point in the Super Attack Tree. That's because many parts of the tree have a level requirement. If you want to see all the Super Attacks the tree has to offer, your only choice is to continue to quest, battle, and follow the story to reach each level checkpoint.

Visit Training Grounds

The world of Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is filled with mystical blue portals. These portals are called Training Grounds, and they allow the character who steps inside to engage in special sparring matches. Taking part in these matches requires the player to know a certain Super Attack and pay a D Medal entry fee. D Medals are hidden throughout the world, so you'll have to be vigilant as you fly around. Look for glowing orbs on the ground, usually in s𝔉ecluded places.

Once you met the requirements, you just have to win the Training Grounds fight. Usually it's against a group of characters recently encountered in the story. There's a recommended level, and I'd advise you be pretty close to it. The Training Grounds fighters can hi﷽t hard and will gang up on you. Fortunately, the D Medal cost remains paid even if you lose. You're free to lev🥃el up and come back if the training fight is giving you trouble.

Victory in the Training Grounds will treat you to a souped-up version of a Super Attack 𒉰yo already know. That might not sound too exciting, but it definitely helps your damage output stay strong as enemies get tougher.

And that's how you learn and upgrade Super Attacks in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot. Just keep🥂 following the story, look out for Training Grounds, and don't forget to freqꦍuently check the Super Attack Tree!
