Square Enix is taking Dragon Quest X offline. Announced during the publisher's presentation at the Tokyo Game Show, remakes Dragon Quest X by removing the game's MMO elements and replacing them with a more traditional solo-player experience.
If you've never heard of Dragon Quest X, that's mostly because the game was never released outside of Japan. Originally for the Wii back in 2012, Dragon Quest X brought the traditional 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Dragon Quest experience online as an MMORPG ▨for the first time. Over the years, Dragon Quest X was ported to newer consoles like the Wii U, PS4, Nintendo 3DS, and Switch, with PC and mobile versions also arriving in Japan. The original MMORPG version revolves around the player trying to stop the evil demon Nelgel from destroying the world by taking control of a member of the five non-human tribes: Ogres, Puklipos, Elves, Dwarfs, Weddies. It looks like𒆙 the offline version of Dragon Quest X will change things up a bit,𒆙 keeping the protagonist as a human and giving him a party member from each of the five tribes.
There are likely to be other differences from the online version of 🧜Dragon 🔯Quest X, such as changes to the job system and purchasing items/equipment from the online Guilds. Overall, the story appears to follow the same beats as the original, with the protagonist taking up arms against the demon Nelgel to save the world of Astolia.
Dragon Quest X: Rise of the Five Tribes Offline will arrive February 26, 2022, for PlayStation 4, PS5, Switch, and PC via Steam. Those who get the PS4 version will enjoy a rare free upgrade to the PS5 version if they can find the new console. Square Enix said Dragon Quest X's expansions, The Sleeping Hero and the Guided Allies Offline, will arrive later this spring.
Sadly, there&rs🐷quo;s no word on a Western release, but it’s cerꦆtainly easier to localize a single-player game than an MMORPG, so fingers crossed.
