Why Does The Arisen Become The Sovran?

Vermund is a kingdom ruled by a noble line of humans where each💃 generation produces the Sovran. The Sovran them🎉selves are actually Arisen that have slain the dragon that stole their heart.

They 🐲are made the ruler of Vermund due to their bravery and ꧋skill, taking the place of the last Sovran that slew a dragon.

This keeps the cycle from growing stagnant, though as learned in Dragon's Dogma 2, there are those who would try to change the course of fate by altering the line of succession or faking their status as the Arisen.

What Is The Arisen's Connection To The Dragon?

The Arisen's connection to the dragon is a neverending cycle. A dragon will seek out one with a powerful will and notable courage, then devour their heart. This sets the chosen one on the path of the Arisen, complete with a wicked scar that marks them as such.

Seneschal is esseꦯntially god, acting as the guardian of the world, though they are a previous Arisen that ascended and fulfilled theꦅir destiny.
