One of the most iconic creatures in the Dragon's Dogma series is the Chimera, and it returns bigger and better than even in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Dragon's Dogma 2. This amalgamation of animals might not be your first boss experience this time, but 🗹it's still a tough fight regardless.

Dragon's Dogma 2: Scaly Invaders Quest Walkthrough
Harꦇve Village hasꦜ lots of scaly problems in this Dragon's Dogma 2 quest.
One head is all about physical power✅, another rains down magic spells on you, and the other is quick and delivers clouds of poison. Even one monster doing one specific thing can be a lot, but with the Chimera, you'll need to know how to handle three enemies at once and survive its onslaught of attacks.
Where To Find Chimera
Chimeras can be found in several parts of Vermund and Battahl, though they're slightly more common in Vermund, especially in t꧃he forested areas to the north and east.
Some specific locations where they have a higher chance of spawning include:
- The area around the Mountain Ruins that sit south of the Sacred Arbor and far north of Vernworth.
- You'll need to fight one during the final objective in the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:side quest, A Poisonous Proposal.
- The Riverside Cavern that sits in the mountains between Vernworth and Checkpoint Rest Town.
- One often spawns at the end of Waterfall Cave, east of Melve and the Borderwatch Outpost.
How To Kill Chimera
A Chimera is essentially three enemies in one that share a single health bar, and each head on its body performs a different set of attacks, though the Lion's head controls the major꧋ity of the movemen🥀t unless it's killed prematurely.
Each head on a Chimera can be independently defeated and disabled, but there will always be🌄 one head left🍷 until it's completely dead.
Killing The Lion Head
The Lion part of the Chimera is the largest and easiest to disable, and it exclusively handles the Chimera's physical attacks. It's highly mobile, and its arsenal includes a variety of attacks:
- It's capable of leaping at you and your pawns.
- Slashing at you with its claws.
- It can roar and briefly stun you and your pawns.
- It has a backwards leap that can combo with a lunging attack.
- It has a short range biting attack.
It isn't weak to a particular element, but it does take increased damage as a vulnerable point. It and the Chimera as a whole are also susceptible to being Caught On Fire by spelᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚls and fire element attacks like Flagration, High Salamander, and X.
You can reduce the Chimera's overall mobility by killing the Lion's head at any point during the fight, and it will disable most 🎃of its physical attacks or make them weaker.
Killing The Goat Head
Of the three heads on the Chimera, the Goat can be the most dangerous of the three. It's the magic user of the beast, and it's capable of casting several different spells, most of which do high damage:
- An AOE spell that causes sleep.
- A fire element spell with fireballs with a minor amount of tracking.
- A thunder spell similar to Thundermine which summons several lightning bolts in specified spots.
- And a version of Seism that starts with blue, mine-like spots on the ground.
You can Silence the Goat head and temporarily prevent it from casting magic by using the Solemnity spell that 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Mage Vocation learns.
While it's possible to grab onto and attack the Goat head like any other large monster, it'll often quickly shake you off or hit you with a spell.
You'll want to knock the Chimera over for your best opportunity at attacking the Goat head as a melee Vocation like Fighter or Thief, either by setting it on fire and toppling it over, or by doing enough damage to the Lion head.
Killing the Goat head will prevent the Chimera from casting magic spells for the rest of the battle.
For magic users like Sorcerer and 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Magick Archer, non-standard damage spells like Seism and Sagittate Downpour are best for dealing damage to the Goat, as it has higher magic resistance than the other two parts.
The Archer also excels at taking down the Goat head, as it can focus on it with physical damage without worrying about being shaken off, especially using Barrage or Dire Shot.
The Thief's Skull Splitter attack is great at doing damage to multiple parts of the Chimera, and getting you onto its back to attack the Goat head easier.
Killing The Snake Tail
The Snake tail of the Chimera is the easiest of the three to kill due to its lower health and number of attacks, but the other two heads will often interfere with you targeting it in particular.
Its primary attack is going to be an AOE poison breath that covers an area in poisonous, purple fluid, but this attack has a fairly large telegraph of the snake rearing its head, and lasts several moments, so you have 💦time to run out of its range🌠.
- The Snake tail is also capable of using a biting attack, a sweeping attack with a longer range, and can grab you or your pawns.
You can use the pawn command 'To me!' to call your Pawns over to you and help them avoid the poison breath.
While it's possible to kill it regularly, melee Vocations are capable of cutting the Snake tail off, which permanently prevents that part's attacks, and it can be harvested for additional materials.
