Take the Oxcart Courier side quest, fꦍor example. It is relatively simple and straightforward but can be upended when trying to track down Lennart in Melve. However, with some luck, you will be able to find him in no time to complete tꦦhe quest!
Oxcart Courier Walkthrough In Dragon's Dogma 2
After reaching Vernworth in Dragon's Dogma 2 and speaking with Donovan to begin the Oxcart Courier side quest, you will be tasked with taking the Oxcart from Vernworth to Melve to deliver a letter to Lennart. Simple enough, right?
Boarding The Oxcart
So, after speaking with Donovan, make your way over to the sign near the Oxcarts and interact with it. After a brief lapse of time, an active Oxcart will appear in the area. From here, speak with Niann and pay a fee of 100G to Board the Oxcart.
Upon paying the fee, head toward the back of the Oxcart, climb inside the wagon, and take a seat on the bench. Here, you can either 'Doze Off' and fast-forward your journey from Vernworth to Melve or take in the sights and sounds from beginning to end.
However, please note that you will likely be ambushed at least once on your way there, so be prepared for combat. The enemies can range from Goblins and Wolves to an Ogre, so i𒁃t's best to be fully stocked up on supplies before moving onward with the quest!
Delivering The Letter To Lennart
Once arriving at Melve, all that's left is tracking Lennart down and delivering Donovan's letter to him. But, alas, this is where things can get a bit tricky. If you're lucky, Lennart will be in the village and easily spotable and approachable. If not, we will cover how to -hopefully- fix that later, but for now, check the following areas for Lennart if you don't immediately see him:
Possible Locations For Lennart
Lennart can be in any of the areas above, so be sure to thoroughly search each place before panicking. The first image showcases the winding pathway that leads out of the village, where the stone archway is that typically has a guard near it. If Lennart is here, he will likely be speaking to another NPC by the wall.
The second and third images are of Lennart's House and the Inn that's directly beside it. Lennart can be in either place, but it is relatively rare for him to be here during the early hours of the day. He can also be in the plaza just above the Inn, so check there if you have🌸 no luck in these areas.
Our final area is the well near the entrance of the village. He will frequently be down here as well. If he isn't in any of these areas, try roaming the village, keeping an eye out for him. If you're not finding him, there are some things you can try to get him to appear in Melve so you 💝can deliver Donovan's letter to him!
If you successfully find Lennart and deliver thꦚe letter to him, warp back to Ver﷽nworth via a Ferrystone and speak with Donovan to complete the side quest!
Where To Find Lennart In Dragon's Dogma 2
If you've checked all the hot spots and tirelessly roamed Melve in search of Lennart only to come up empty-handed, there are some things you can attempt to get him to appear. While these solutions may not alwayꦺs work, they are worth an attempt if you exhausted all other opt൲ions!
The first is quite simple: it's causing a commotion in the village. Don't hurt anyone or do anything drastic like that, but simply pulling out your weapons and swinging at nothing or random houses will cause the villagers to become deservedly upset, causing them to run around. If Lennart is in Melve, you might just see him run out from where he was or even suddenly appear in front of you!
Lennart Is Dead!
Finally, if nothing else has worked out for you, the reason may very well be that Lennart died at some point during your playthrough. However, as dire as that may sound, your quest isn't over yet. To find out if he's dead, warp back to Vernworth via a Ferrystone and make your way to the Vermund Charnel House.
Once here, walk past Zennan, through the doorway beside him, and down the stairs. From here, you should see little to no caskets unless you have some serious explaining to do, and the one you do see should hopefully be Lennart.
If Lennart's casket is here, you can use a Wake Stone to bring him back to life, sending him back to Melve. From here, you can take the Oxcart back to Melve and finally complete the quest. However, if Lennart isn't dead, you must search harder for him in the village, as that is your only hope!
