At the height of its popularity, I was firmly attached to my Nintendo 3DS. It went everywhere with me—to town, to work, to bed—everywhere. I lived for that little green ligh🅘t telling me I had met other players via StreetPass and eagerly loaded it up to see which weird and wonderful faces were lined up to greet my Mii. And to snag those coveted puzzle pieces, of course.

Players were always so creative with Miis, creating funny, adorable, or sometimes downright scary characters that would pop up on your console. A common occurrence was players trying to make their Miis look like their favourite characters from games, films, and TV shows. I miss StreetPass, and I wish the Nintendo Switch had adopted a similar feature, but now I’ve found something to fill that void — 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Dragon’s Dogma 2.

Those who pay out for the Dragon's Dogma 2 microtransactions are only dಌoing themselves a disse🍰rvice by missing out on what makes the game unique.

While it’s got plenty of puzzles—have you met the sphinx yet?—there aren’t any puzzle pieces in sight. Weird player-made characters? Now I’ve seen plenty of those, and I’m loving it. As well as designing your very own Arisen in Dragon’s Dogma 2, you also get to create a custom main pawn. Your pawn will be available for oth♍er players on the same platform to hire and use. Even if they never take them on their adventures, players can see your pawn hanging♚ out in the rift and even wandering around in the world where they can also recruit them if they so choose.

Dragon's Dogma 2 - Sphinx Encounter

During my adventures while playing on Xbox Series X, as well as some rather odd-looking pawns (you can get really creative in that character creator), I kept seeing some amazing recreations of well-known🔴 characters. If you plan to play on Xbox, don’t be surprised to see Lae’zel from Baldur’s Gate 3 wandering around, Gandalf from The Lord of the Rings, and my personal favourite (because I made him), Majima from Yakuza. He is my homicidal, eyepatch-wearing video game husband no matter what game he appears in.

Before launch, it was naturally just reviewers𒁃 and content creators playing. In fact, once the embargo lifted, it was funny to realise that I actually knew the journalists who had created both Lae’zel and Gandalf. In turn, others had spotted Majima roaming the world and not realised I had made him. Now the game has launched, the floodgates have been opened. I can’t wait to see what other quirky 🎉and incredible pawns people will make.

I generally have a set crew. I’m a warrior, Majima is a thief, and I have a firm favourite mage pawn from a colleague because they’re much higher level and cost me nothing to hire. Double bonus. That means I have one last spot, which I leave open for a ranged attac♈ker and I do like to mix it up and hire different pawns. Not only to keep getting higher level 🎶ones, but because I like to check out different character designs (and bin off the ones with annoying voices).

While my 3DS is gathering dust and StreetPass has long been dead, I can scratch the same itch by adventuring in Dragon’s Dogma 2 and meeting all the wonderful pawns people create. This weekend, I can’t wait to see what 🗹weirdos, hunks, and familiar pop culture🅺 characters are lurking on roads and materialising from the fog of the Rift. Show me what you’ve got, Arisens!
