Though it was released over a decade ago, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Dragon's Dogma holds up as one of the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:mos💯t innovative open-world RPGs ever created, paving the road for Elden Ring and The Witcher 3. While not a perfect game, it was good enough for hardcore fans who continue to play it to this day and is even 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:getting a sequel.

With the release of the Dark Arisen expansion, the developers at Capcom addressed a ton of fan concerns, making the game even better than it was when first released. That isn't to say that it had no room to grow. It's possible that the Arisen's journey could have been even more exciting with just a few tweaks, and make returning to Gransys an even greater joy.

6 More Cons𝐆equential Romance Options

By the end of Dragon's Dogma, you'll find your true love. Or, at least, someone you like well enough to give the Arisen's Bond to. Who you chose has tremendous consequences, but only in a total of two or three scenes and the post-game. Other than that, your beloved doesn't really matter and doesn't always fit with some of the quests you'll progress through.

Did Madeline tell you that she loved you? Did Aelinore cry as her knights led her away? It doesn't particularly matter. You thought it would be funny to romance Feste. So, regardless of the harrowing trials you've been through with others, he'll get kidnapped by the dragon and end up at your house. The game's commitment to player choice is admirable, but it 168澳洲幸运﷽5开奖网:loses storytelling oppo♛rtunities because of it.

5 Being Able To Roll From The Beginni♊ng

Defense in Dragon's Dogma is relatively simple compared to other open-world RPGs. Mostly, defending either means having good armor, a shield, running away, or hoping your pawn draws aggro while you shoot lightning out of your fingertips. It's still satisfying combat, but very passive, defensively. You can, eventually, get a dodge roll mechanic, but only if you're a strider, ranger, magick archer, or assassin. Others have to rely on their wits and pawn AI.

But what if everyone were able to dodge, and could do it from the beginning? Sure, that might make it a bit more Soulslike than the developers might want, but it would also make combat a lot more dynamic, allowing for greater precision. There's nothing like rolling backward just in time to fire an arrow into a Cyclops' eye. Why not let sorcerers do it too?

4 A Bit 💜More Class Crossover

Dragon's Dogma Change Vocations

You've spent a long time as a fighter. You've learned to draw your enemies to you and shield your allies from harm. Now, it's time to ascend to your true potential and become a warrior. There, you'll gain the power to command the battlefield, use huge, two-handed weapons, and also lose the ability to use a shield... Wait, what?

168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Dragon's Dogma does classes right, but sometimes the things you lose from switching vocations don't make much sense. For example, if you upgrade from strider to ranger, you can't use shortbows anymore, even though mechanically they're just faster, weaker longbows. Wanting to use them is one thing, but why would you lose the ability outright? Allowing for a bit more flexibility due to class history would allow for more dynamic characters, though it might also throw the class balance off.

3 On-Screen Status For Pawns ๊ 𝔍

Dragon's Dogma Pawn and Arisen

168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Pawns make Dragon's Dogma special. Without them, an entire aspect of Dragon's Dogma gameplay would be lost, not to mention the fact that it would make carrying things around Gransys significantly more difficult. They'll heal you when you're sick, enchant your weapons, and even lead you on the road ahead, which makes questing significantly easier.

But for all that, the game makes it surprisingly difficult to tell how well-off your companions are. You'll see their health bars above their heads, sure. But in the chaos of battle, with spells popping off every which way and gigantic creatures obscuring your vision, it gets very difficult to monitor how much damage they're taking. This can get extremely frustrating if you're a healer, or just want to keep all of the Greenwarish to yourself, because you'll keep having to rush in and pick them back up again when you could have easily prevented it.

2 Transportation That's Not Walking

In a post-168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Elden Ring and 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Breath of The Wild world, it's difficult to justify an open-world game that doesn't let you travel faster than your own two feet can car♌ry y🀅ou. Sure, with Dark Arisen you can fast travel easier, but if you've forgotten to place a waystone in the right place, you'll find yourself spending hours trekking through terrain you've already crossed. After all that time, even the most dynamic fights can seem almost tedious.

This, plus the game's often punishing difficulty, actually discourages exploration, which is a shame considering how huge Gransys is. Giving you a horse, a cart, or even a goat, would free up a lot of room for you to actively explore. It wouldn't make the game any easier, but at least it would let you get to the places you're going to die a little quicker.

1 Fewer Dropped Quests 𒈔

It makes sense that Gransys changes as you go through the major story quests. As the Arisen, your actions have consequences, and the world moves as you move. This creates a dynamic world that is never quite the same each day you play. But it also means that a lot of the side quests that you didn't notice might just disappear if you proceed too quickly through to face the dragon.

Some of these dropped quests make sense. For example, if Quina has already made it to the Grand Cathedral, you probably won't need to find her a Pilgrim's Charm for good luck on her journey. But some dropped quests just seem arbitrary. If the villagers near her suspect Selene of being a witch, why does the quest to save her disappear after you've defended Gran Soren from a basilisk? Beyond that, how is she still alive? Maybe it's because of the limited technology at the time it was released, but dropping all side quests without qualification robs you of a lot of great content and makes even less sense than the followers of Salvation.
