Dune Awakening has been revealed at Gamescom 2022 by way of a cinematic trailer. It's been confirmed to be an open-world survival MMO that will be launching on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.The trailer featured Dune's famous words, "Fear is the mind-killer", while teasing the possibility of vehicular exploration and giant sand worms. Looks like Dune is taking a note from Tremors. Or maybe the Dune book. Probably the Dune book.Dune Awakening is, as expected, set on Arrakis, and "takes inspiration from both Frank Herbert's novels and Denis Villeneuve's Academy Award-winning film while exploring exciting new possꦆibiliꦗties in the franchise".
