"Nine🙈 days ago, my husband left for work and never returned." the woman tells you with sadness in her voice. "We've always had a wonderful life together, and I worry that something terrible has happened to him. Can you help me?" You fold your arms over your chest, "I'm sorry for your loss, ma'am. But I think I can help. I know this may sound like an odd question, but do you happen to have a lock of his hair?"
In the game 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Dungeons & Dragons, those spells that help you find people or things are under the umbrella of the divination school. They are spells concerned mostly 𓂃with uncovering knowledge, wherever it may be hidden. This list will examine the best divination spells of level 3rd and below. Prepare to be enlightened!
10 Guidance
While Guidance isn't an effective cantrip to use during combat, it's applicable in many other situations. Guidance is a concentration cantrip that, as an action, gives a💖 creature you touch one D4 that it can add to an ability check of its choice within the next minute.
The D4 can be added before or after making the check. Whether your ✨party is climbing a dangerous cliff, attemptin𒉰g to persuade a barkeep for information on locals, or performing one of countless other skill checks, guidance skews the odds slightly more in your favor.
9 Locate Object ꦡ
Have you ever misplaced your keys, wallet, or phone? It's an infuriating experience when you lose something that you need. Thankfully, in Dungeons & Dragons, this spell can pinpoint your lost item's location. Locate object is a 2nd 🌌Level concentration spell that senses out the direction of an object that is familiar to you.
It h꧙as a casting time of one action and the object must be within 1000-feet of you in order to be found. If the item is in motion, you know the direction it's💃 moving. The spell can also locate the nearest object of a particular kind, such as certain tools, jewelry, apparel, or weapons.
8 Identify
Depending on what 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:magic item rules your dungeon master is using in🃏 your game, Identify is either extremely useful or wholly unnecessary. Identify is a 1𓃲st level spell with a casting time of 1 minute.
You choose one object that you must touch for the duration of the spell. If the object is a magic 🧸item, you learn everything about its magical properties as well as how the item is used. Alternatively, you can touch a person while casting this spell in order to learn what spells are currently affec🔯ting them.
7 Hunterꦆ's M🥃ark
The hex of the ranger class. Hunter's Mark is a 1st Level concentration spell that c﷽𒁃osts a bonus action. The spell marks a target within 90-feet for up to an hour. While marked in this way, the creature takes an extra 1D6 damage when you hit it with a weapon attack. Furthermore, you have advantage on ability checks to find it.
If the creature drops to 0 hit points, you can use a bonus action on a subsequent turn to move the mark to a new 🦂target. In the same way that you would be playing a Warlock ineffectively without Hex, Rangers🃏 wouldn't be nearly as dangerous without their Hunter's Mark.
6 🎃 Detect Thoughts 𝕴
Have you ever wanted to know someone's intentions? Detect Thoughts will do you one better. It's a 2nd Level concentration spell cast on y💞ourself as an action that allows you to read the mind of anyone within 30-feet for the next minu♔te. Initially, you only learn a target's surface thoughts. However, you can probe deeper by using an action and forcing the target to make a wisdom saving throw.
On a failure, you gain insight into the target's reasoning, emotional sta𝐆te, and something that it might be thinking about a lot lately. Whether you succeed or fail, the target knows you're probing into its mind and can make a contested Intelligence check to stop you. Another neat use for this spell is detecting nearby enemies🉐. Though the range is only 30-feet, knowing what's lurking behind a door can make a big difference.
5 Augury
Augury allows you to commune with the gods or some other extraplanar being in order to ﷽learn the likely result of a course of action. It's a 2nd Level ritual spell with a casting time of 1 minute. The action you choose to learn about must be taken in the next 30 minutes for the spell to take effect. Your answer is given in one of four ways: weal for good results, woe for bad ones, weal and one for both, and nothing for results that don't fall in either category.
Be careful about when to use Augury, though, for casting it more than once per long rest g꧂ives the spell a cumulative 25% chance of providing a random result. Then again, if you want to 🔯do something questionable, is this spell really going to stop you?
4 𝓀 Cla💧irvoyance
This is the perfec꧂t spell for keeping watch over suspicious characters. Its enormous range of 1-mile allows you to do so while staying well♛ out of harm's way. Clairvoyance is a 3rd Level concentration spell that has a casting time and duration of 10 minutes.
The spell creates an invisible sensor in a l🦋ocation familiar to you or an obvious location that is unfamiliar, such as behind a nearby door. You choose whether to see or hear through the sensor and are able to switch between the two as an action. However, the sensor will appear to be a luminous orb to a creature with True Sight or See Invisibility, so be careful who you're spying on!
3 💫 ಌ Mind Spike
Mind Spike is the only damage spell on this list. It was added to the game in Xanathar's. The spell is a bit of an oddball in comparison to the other divination options but is still quite powerful in its own right. It's a 2nd Level concentration spell with a range of 60-feet and a 1 hou🍷r duration. As an action, you cause a target within range to make a wisdom saving throw.
On a failure, thꦚey take 3D8 psychic da📖mage, or half as much on a success. A failed save also exposes the creature's location to you as long as you maintain concentration and you both remain on the same plane. If you're dealing with an enemy that likes to run away, Mind Spike will make their life a lot more difficult.
2 Tongues
Tongues is a simple spell but, oftentimes, the simplest spells can be the most powerful. In exchange for ꧑a 3rd Level slot, you may use one action🌸 to grant a creature you touch the ability to understand any spoken language it hears. Furthermore, when the affected creature speaks, any creature that knows at least one language and can hear the target understands what he or she is saying.
There are many languages in Dungeons & Dragons, far too many for most characters to know. It would be a shame if someone ended up as another kebab along your sword due to a miscommunication. Tongues makesꦫ the "hold on, let's talk about this" option available in most situations. Though it may not be as fun, you can learn a lot more from conversation with NPCs than combat.
1 💦 Detect Magi❀c
Last but certainly not least, Detect Magic is a spell that any so-called spellcaster should have on hand. It's a 1st Level concentration spell that detects magic within 30-feet of the caster. As an action, any magic within 30-feet of you becomes visible through the presence o🃏f a faint aura for the next 10 minutes.
Detect Magic is also a ritual spell, so if you're proficient in ritual casting it won't even cost you a spell slot. The knowledge of nearby magic can warn you of magical traps, reveal hidden magical items, and tip you off to someone's ability as a spellcaster. In a world brimming with magical powe🌼r, ⛦knowing is half the battle. Without Detect Magic, you probably won't know until it's too late!
