One of the most iconic races in medieval fantasy, dwarves are a wonderful choice for your character when playing 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Dungeons & Dragons. They have interesting traditions to roleplay in lore, longish life spans, and many mechanical advantages for🔯 combat, especially considering the subraces available for them. Your options are plenty, and all of them are good.

While the roleplay tips presented here do depend on your world's lore (so it may not be valid in non-D&D settings), you can still build a powerhouse of a Dwarf with some of the tips presented here.

5 Tak😼e Things Slow

Dwarves are one of the races with the longest life spans. That may not look like much, but it is a strong role-playing factor since it affects how they i🎉nteract with other races, such as Humans.

They don't mind taking it slow with relationships, and some dwarves choose not to approach Humans. Not because they don't like Humans, but because Humans don't last long compared to them. Keep in mind your character may outlive the rest of your party (unless there's an Elf or something), at least if you all manage to die due to natural causes.

They are also famous to take their time in trusting others, which can give your character a good roleplay quirk. You can also ch෴oose to ignore these characteristics and be a stand-out among most Dwarves, which also creates an interesting character. It all depends on how you want to go about it.

Unlike most characters, wh﷽o get their weapon and armor proficiencies through their ജclasses, and tools proficiencies from classes and backgrounds, dwarves can get quite a few of those by themselves.

Any dwarf is proficient with hand axes, battleaxes, light hammers, and war hammers. This helps you with one of the most common class-race combinations (encouraged by the book itself) which is the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Dwarf Cleric. One of the Dwarf's subraces, the Mountain Dwarf, also gets light and medium armor proficiency, making them peculiar yet sweet choices for wizards, who can't wear any of those, but more on them later.

You also can choose to be proficient with brewer's, mason's, or smith's tools, giving you some versatility in what you can do outside of combat. If all of that isn't enough for you, you get some nice knowledge about stonework, which grants you advantage when analyzing this type of work.

3 📖 Mountain Dwarves Can Be Wizards With Armour

Briefly mentioned before, this dwarf subrace gets proficiency with light and medium armor, allowing classes that normally don't get any type of armor its usage, so you can brag to the other wizards and sorcerers that you can wear armor (though Mage Armor could be better depending on how you build your character).

They also get a neat perk that most classes don't get; a plus two in strength that, combined with the plus two in constitution that every Dwarf gets, makes Mountain Dwarves unique for getting plus two in two different ability scores, rather than a plus two in one score and a plus one in another score. This is a strong bonus to your abilities and really helps with classes that rely on both strength and constitution, such as fighters and barbarians.

2 🐼 Hil🌳l Dwarves Make Great Tanks

The other subrace available is the Hill 🍃Dwarf, which can become quite the tank due to a fun combination of racial features and feats.

Apart from a plus one in wisdom, Hill Dwarves get a plus one for their overall health every time you level up, along with the normal health increase you get every level. The cool thing is that there's a feat with a similar effect: Tough. It grants you two extra hit points every time you level up. Combining this feat with a Hill Dwarf gives you three extra hit points per level, which is amazing for front-line classes with low hit dice, such as monks or clerics or, if you w🌌ant to go truly berserk, allows you to reach absurd levels of health with classes such as barbarians.

1 They're Amazing Front-Liners

Mechanically, Dwa♛rves make excellent martial characters and tanks, due to their physical ability scores increase, extra health or armor, and their resistance against pไoison, which is a common type of damage among monsters.

If your goal is to make a fighter, barbarian, cleric, paladin, and even a monk or a druid, Dwarves can be a good fit. You also gain access to an interesting Dwarf-exclusive feat: 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Dwarven Fortitude. It allows you to use a hit die (if you have one) whenever you use the dodge action, allowing you to recover health by yourself during a fight. They can also excel as more resistant spellcasters than most, but that will depend on what you're going for with your character.

The only downside they have compared to other front-liners is that their movement is a bit lower, walking five feet less than most races. Still, that isn't a big deal, since classes such as barbarians and monks have extra movement, and you can easily recover and increase your movement with feats such as mobile, for example.
