Dungeons &amไp; 🔥Dragons: 26 Hilarious Magic Items
Dungeons & Dragons would be nothing without its sprawling list of items, weapons, and pieces of lore. However, these items are d🌞ownright funny.
By having a set-in-stone trail of events, these modules rob players of their agency in choosing the story's direction. Despite the stumbles of these early 💮publications, in the half-decade since its introduction, many well-polished fifth edition modules have come to the fore.
Updated on April 9, 2025 by Alfredo Robelo: With the release of the 2024 rulebooks came new starting adventures that utilize the updated rules and monsters to their full extent. We've updated this article to include some of these new adventures, letting you ease into the 2024 rules changes or the modified creatures in the 2025 Monster Manual.

This introductory adventure for Dungeons & Dragons is based around the animated show o✃f the 80s, perfect not only to ease in players but also as a jumping-off point for all kinds of campaigns. The 📖story has an overarching villain built in, as well as adventure hooks for the most popular settings of D&D, including the one from the show.
The adventure module even com♏es with character sheets representing each of the show's protagonists, either for fans of the show or new players not wanting to choose every aspect of their experience. The story of the module is very whimsical, with pixies asking for help in aiding a unicorn, and a pocket dimension contained entirely within a crystal ball.

Scions of Elemen🅠tal Evil is an adventure module similar in many respects to Uni and the Hunt for the Lost Horn; it is an introductory adventure for low-level players with plenty of pre-made characters from the 80s cartoon and rules from the 2024 rulebooks. The difference here is in the tone, since the whimsical aspects are left behind to inste🐻ad deal with world-ending cults and intrigue.
It is also a more open-ended adventure, even if it doesn't seem so at first glance. While players can just storm the Temple of Elemental E⛎vil and slaughter every cultist they find within, they can also infiltrate their ranks and sneak into the throne room of the Para-elemental Queen, cutting the head of the snake ins𒈔tead of dealing with its tail.
30 ꦍ 🦹 Adventures From The Book Of Many Things

5 - 20 |
The Deck of Many Things isn't for the faint of heart, and neither is the Book of Many Things. The Book contains several adventures themed around the Deck, and while you don't have to use that magic item to ♔make the adventures work, they certainly function in a similar way: catastrophic events that can reward those bold enough to enter one more room or draw one more card.

While the Book contains plenty of elements to spice up existing adventures, like the Rogue's Gallery or the Solar Bastion, it also houses several adventures that will have players of nearly every level facing o𝄹ff against thematic horr♉ors. The best chapters for those looking for adventures are the following:
- Throne: The party needs to claim a recently acquired keep from its previous undead owner.
- Ruin: The ruins of an old manor are being contested by a red dragon, a githyanki detachment and minotaur archeologists.
- Void: The souls of the party have been taken, and they now need to traverse an otherworldly labyrinth before a deadly spirit eats them whole.
- Donjon: The party is trapped in a Death Star-looking fortress floating through space, needing to avoid the century-old guards and the eldritch beings contained within.
29 🐷 Light Of Xaryxis 💎

5 - 8 |
This adventure is one of thre🦂e books that came in the Spelljammer: Adventures in Space campaign setting, released in August of 2022. Unfortunately, this release is looked upon quite poorly by the community as it features very few rules adjudications for the Spelljammer setting, ultimately serving itself up as a reskinned version of Dungeons & Dragons.
The Light of Xaryxis adventure itself is fine; however, it definitely feels a bit bare bones in comparison to other Wizards of the Coast ad⛎ventures. It is designed to be completed in 12 sessions, each taking two to three hours.
Most other adventure modules lend themselves towards a session length of 3-4 hours. This is a great adventure to run for new pl🅰ayers who have other tabletop roleplaying or gaming experienceꦉ, as well as intermediate players who don't have a lot of time available to commit to a longer campaign.
28 Tyranny Of Dragons: Hoard Of The Dragon Queen / The Rise Of Tiaಞmat ꩲ

Re-released January 17, 2023 (Originally published 2014) |

As mentioned in the introduction, the Tyranny of Dragons storyline modules definitely have their issues. These modules were released🐟 separately as part of the same story, with Hoꦅard of the Dragon Queen taking players through levels one to seven and the Rise of Tiamat continuing the action up to level 15.
The two books will require no small amount of work from the Dungeon Master to allow for a more free-flowing and versatile storyline, but that's not something that all players desire. For players who are constantly w༒aiting for the Dungeon Master to provide the next prompt or story beat, 𒆙Tyranny of Dragons is a perfectly suitable choice.
Furthermore, it's one of the only modules that do a great job of putting the dragons in Dungeons & Dragons, and it lends itself especially well to players who wish to become h🥂eroes in the most traditional sense.
However, be warned that if you plan to run this ♓module duo, finagling with some of the combats presented in its pages is a must. Otherwise, you'll end up with a number of dead PCs throughout the story, as well as the possibility of TPKs (total party kills) and a less-than-🎀climactic final battle with the dragon queen.

This particular module is more geared towards beginners and those who appreciate some levity in their gaming, as most interested 🐬players are expected to be fans of the show but not necessarily familiar with D&D.
