With the recent release of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Spelljammer: Adventures in Space, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:D&D's fifth edition is now home to races, monsters, and more native to the far reaches of Wildspace and the Astral Plane. Among the most notable inclusions of the is the namesake Spelljamming Ships, interstellar vessels that can be used to transport creatures across𝐆 the stars.
Luckily for those who love variety, Spelljamming Ships come in a wide range of shapes and sizes, each with its own weapons and unique attributes. With a multitude of available ships, not all ships are well-suited to different types of crews, as some require a substantial number of crewmates in order to properly man each weapon aboard and keep up maintenance. So to help those looking to run a Spelljammer campaign of their own, we're going to examine the Spelljamming Ships most well-suited for adventuring parties!
6 Wasp Ship
For those looking for the most simple and no-frills option for a Spelljamming Ship with little to manag𒆙e and account for, the Wasp Ship is perfect for you. With the smallest crew capacity of any ship, these 20,000 gold ships can be fully crewed with only five creatures. Though they only have access to a single onboard in the form of a Ballista and have cargo hold on the smaller side, they♑ have an above-average default flying speed of 50 feet.
If you're only concerned with getting the party from point A to point B and being able to maneuver the ship when taking on other Spelljamming Vessels, the Wasp Ship is definitely worth considering.
5 ﷽ ꦬ Flying Fish Ship
Valued at 20,00🥃0 gold, Flying Fish ships are among the most prevalent types of Spelljamming Vessels that can be encountered in Wildspace. With a crew capacity of ten creatures, a Flying Fish ship has more than enough room to store cargo or help transport NPCs that your party may encounter in your travels.
Though this ship has several rooms within its interior, allowing you to treat the ship as a home base and give each party member their own living quarters, there's little much else to distinguish this ship. That being said, it's a solid choice for those not caught up with gimmicks, simply looking for a ship their party can call home.
4 ♌ Squid Ship
Slightly more costly than the Flying 🔯Fish Ship, Squid Ships are valued at 25,000 gold and are named for their squid-like shape and appearance. Squid ships contain a comparable number of inn🌄er rooms as a Flying Fish ship and can support a crew of up to thirteen creatures.
In addition to its onboard weapons of Ballistae and a Mangonel, perhaps the most defining trait of this ship is its massive Piercing Ram. This allows it to 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:deal massive amounts of damage to opposing ships through ramming, allowing for a fun and dynamic offensive option a party can access if they're willing to harm their own ship in the process.
3 🐻 Lamprey Ship
Said to be among the oldest Spelljammer Ship models found within Wildspace and the Astral Sea, Lamprey ships are a sleek option that has access to four onboard ballistae. As each of these ballistae requires three creatures to operate, a Lamprey Ship's ideal crew size is on the higher side of fifteen crewmates.
However, for parties willing to hire NPC crewmates, this can be a non-issue. Perhaps the most appealing trait of this ship is its Grappling Jaws, which can be used to temporarily reduce another ship's movement to 0, making it an ideal choice for parties looking to regularly board other ships, such as parties of space pirates.
2 🐎 D🍷amselfly Ship
With f🔯orms akin to a dragonfly, a Damselfly ship is a notably small but speedy ship capable of utilizing a default movement speed of 70 feet. Though this ship has among the smaller ca🧜rgo holds, only capable of carrying five tons, its crew size of nine creatures is the perfect happy medium for those looking to transport their party or two without needing to hire a slew of mercenaries.
Additionally, Damselfies are said to be amon♕g the most customizable ships in the game, with this ship type having its own community of owners that try to make their ships distinct through paint jobs and additional equipment. This allows you ꧃and your party to potentially express yourselves through the ship, while opening the door for fun role-playing opportunities if you happen to run into owners of another Damselfly.
1 Living Ship 💞
Alongside the Wasp, the Living Ship is the ship option tied for the lowest ideal crew ♔size, only toting a single Ballistౠa. However, this boat-like ship has a unique trait that earns it a heap of brownie points in our book.
Integrated into every living ship is a Treant that regularly refreshes the party's air supply and even repairs damages to the ship over time. In addition to offering mechanical benefits, this also provides a built-in NPC as part of the ship itself, opening the door for memorable roleplaying opportunities.
