Dark elves are great, almost uncontested in how great they are, but they have one fatal flaw: Sunlight Sensitivity. In sunlight, all Drow roll perception checks and attack rolls are at a di▨sadvantage unle𒐪ss they have sunglasses or some way to block the light on hand.
It might be worth seeing if your Dungeon Master will let you invest in a pair of sunglasses or something similar to try and combat this disadvantage - of course, you'll need to have them on all the time. However, dark elves would probably thrive in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:something like an Arctic campaign where it's not sunny most of the time, though when it is sunny they'll probably be suffering twice as much.
5 Play Around With Class 🐠
Although there are certainly some classes that would play well with a Drow on the surface like a Sorcerer, Warlock, or Bard you should feel free to play around with your class. You can make some very fun and ironic combinations 💜with the Drow, for example, a Light Cleric.
Although if you do play a Light Cleric you should expect to blind yourself occasionally if you do decide to play a Drow Light Cleric. Just know that because of the Drow's Sunlight Sensitivity that you might have an easier time fighting with Area of Effect attacks instead of single-target spells.
4 Why Did You Leave The🔥 Un🌟derdark?
If you're playing in a campaign with a bit more of a traditional Underdark then you'll want to consider what your motivations are for leaving. Generally, the Underdark is a highly isolated area, which makes the introduction of exterior ideas almost entirely non-existent, but it's not unheard of for people to drift away from the Underdark or see it as corrupt.
If your Drow isn't coming from the Underdark then you have a 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:who💛le ra♓nge of other motivations for adventuring that you can pick from. Perhaps some of that motivation comes from the desire to reconnect with your Drow's heritage and the Underdark.
3 ▨ You Are A Traitor
If you have left the Underdark without Lolth's permission then you will be branded as a traitor of the Underdark and of Lolth. Return to its confines would certainly mean death if not a fate worse than death, like becoming one of the many Driders that linger on the edges of their former homes and cities.
Even if you never set foot in the Underdark again, there's a decent chance that you will be hunted by assassins on the surface. Consider how that would affect how your character would react to the world around them and just how willing they would be to trust those who try to get close to them.
Of course, there's a decent chance that nobody is coming after you but paranoia is a strong motivator to always keep aware of your surroundings.
2 🎐 Cultural Whiplash
Moving from the U🦋nderdark, an area that your Drow has likely never left, to the surface is bound to come with a lot of shock☂s. One of which is the completely different cultures that cover the majority of the surface world.
It would be worthwhile to take some time to consider how this would affect your interactions with the people and the world around you and what the culture was like when your character was growing up. Something like this could be really fun to ෴explore in a one on on༺e campaign where you don't have to be concerned about alienating yourself from a party by finding most things unusual or fascinating.
Plus, you can take a lot of time in one on one campaigns to interact with NPCs and the world in a way that wouldn't be as possible in a group.
1 ♓ Take Perception Boosting Feats
If you find that you're really struggling to deal with the Sunlight Sensitivity and that it's hurting your enjoyment of gameplay it might be worthwhile to invest in some feats that could boost your perception and hopefully help to counteract the disadvantage you gain from perception rolls like the Observant Feat.
Alternatively, you could take something like Lucky to hopefully counteract the disadvantage you have on attack rolls when you're in the sunlight. While you'll still have to roll again at a disadvantage, at least you'll have the chance to roll again if you manage to land a natural one.
