Even if your character is melee-based, it is highly recommended you have at least one type of ranged attack just in case. Why simply attack your flying enemy with a ranged weapon, when you can punish them for flying in the first place? One of the main Fighter subclasses is the extremely popular Battle Master. This comes with special abilities called maneuvers, which allow your attacks to cause extra damage or inflict conditions upon your enemies. If you're not a Fighter, fear not — you can get two of these through 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the Martial Adept feat.

What's the point of these maneuvers, though? Well, one of them, Trip Attack, will cause extra damage and force the enemy to do a Strength saving throw. If your enemy is ranged, as they likely are since they fly, then there's a chance they're bad with Strength saving throws. Fail the throw, and they'll fall — and for every ten feet (or three metres) they fall, they'll take an extra d6 damage. Thanks to this triple threat of your initial damage, the extra damage from your maneuver, and even more damage from the fall, they'll probably not fly near you ever again.

There is a downside here though; The number of attacks you can add maneuvers to is very limited per short or long rest, especially if you're using the feat rather than being a Fighter yourself. If you can't beat them, join them. And then beat them. In case your enemies are just flying around, you can start flying yourself and fight them in the air, in true Dragon Ball fashion. It'll make for a very stylish fight, too. If you want to create a character around this concept, races such as the Aarakocra or a winged Tiefling variant will work perfectly. Or, if the campaign has already started, look to the spellbook and the mighty Fly.

Not only is this one of the most useful spells just for traversing dangerous environments, but you'll be able to get up close and personal with flying enemies. Just be careful; spells that give people flight tend to be concentration spells, so you'll have to watch out for yourself here. You can also search for items that give flight to its user, though those can be tricky to obtain and at your DM's discretion.

If you want your enemies to stop flying, just ask them nicely, then force them into a Wisdom saving throw. There are many spells that can force someone to do what you want, and all you need to do is say "land". From Command to Suggestion and Dominate Beast/Person/Monster, you'll have a good chance of making them land against their will.

Even if you lose your turn forcing the enemy to land, it will give your party an opportunity to attack your enemies — so it's still a favorable situation for you and your friends. Depending on the enemies' sizes, they can be even grappled by martial players, making sure they will no longer fly.

Still, guessing whether the enemies are good with Wisdom rolls or not is a bit more difficult, as it's not something that can be immediately noticed, like Strength can be for the Trip Attack. That said, if you're a spellcaster rather than a martial, this is a pretty good way for you to handle the situation.

Keeping up the grapple idea, as soon as these enemies touch the ground and stay within reach, they 🤪can be grappled. The Grapple action is not the only way to do something of the sort, either — anything that holds and paralyzes will work amazingly well.

Hold Person, for instance, will help you a lot. Other spells, such as Earthbind, Entangle, and Web, will also be highly effective. Some of these spells will force them to land or fall, while others can prevent them from going airborne again. This allows your melee friends to have fun with these pesky creatures attacking you all.
