The scions of the Giant gods are brand new campaign ending Titans for players in the third (levels 11-16) and fourth (levels 17-20) tiers of play to face off against. These Giants are the grandchildren of Annam, the Giant All-Father, and they slumber beneath the worlds of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Dungeons & Dragons in elemental cradles that protect them.

To even face one of these scions, you first need to defeat the elemental cradle that houses it. That in itself is a sizable task, seeing as each cradle is a CR22 (Challenge Rating) or higher Elemental with a score of devastating abilities. If you do manage to crack open a cradle, prepare to face the wrath of the scions inside them listed below. We doubt they're morning people.

6 Scion Of Grolantor (CR22) 🐈

Hill Scion by Warren Mahy

Grolantor is the youngest son of Annam and is viewed as a dullard by the rest of his brothers and sisters. Nonetheless, hill giants, ettins, trolls, and other less intelligent giantkin revere Grolantor for his "might makes right" mentality. Grolantor's scion wields a giant tree club with which he can knock opponents 100 feet away.

Furthermore, the insatiable and unreasonable hunger of the hill giants is exemplified through his inhale ability, which forces a Strength saving throw on all creatures in a 120-foot line that's 15 feet wide. On a fail against this save, creatures are sucked into Grolantor's mouth, swallowed, and deposited in his enormous belly.

Being swallowed by this scion doesn't immediately kill you, but it does cause you to be restrained and suffer force damage at the start of each of the scion's turns. The only way out is if a creature inside of the scion deals over 60 damage in a single turn, and even then, the scion has to fail a Constitution saving throw, or else you stay swallowed.

Considering the scion has six legendary resistances to work with, you're basically not getting out of its stomach until it dies. Grolantor's scion also has the feed reaction, which deals additional damage to creatures swallowed by him and heals him. Like many scions, Grolantor also has the earth-shaking movement bonus action, which breaks the concentration of all creatures within 60 feet of it unless they succeed on a DC 23 Constitution saving throw.

5 ✅ Scion Of Skoraeus (CR23) 🀅

In stark contrast to Grolantor, Skoraeus is admired as the wisest of Annam's children despite being the fifth born. He is knowledgeable about a great many things, including extensive knowledge of the crafting arts. He often serves as an advisor to the rest of Annam's family in the tales of Giants.

The scion of Skoraeus emulates his father's mastery of stone through the use of its crystal club, runic boulders, and entombing grasp. The crystal club hits for a truckload of bludgeoning damage and also flashes with light, dealing radiant damage and potentially 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:blinding the target of the attack no matter if the scion's attack hits or misses.

The runic boulders aren't much better, dealing a ton of bludgeoning damage as well and exploding on impact. Hit or miss, creatures within 30 feet of the explosion take force damage. Most frightening of all, the scion's entombing grasp deals a fireball worth of force damage to a single target and grapples them in stone.

If the target remains grappled at the start of the scion's next turn, it immediately becomes petrified and turns to stone. Skoraeus' scion doesn't even need to hit to incur annoying status conditions and deal the best damage types in the game (radiant and force) against your party. That's definitely something to keep in mind.

4 Scion Of Thrym (CR24) 𝔍

Frost Scion by Warren Mahy

Thrym is the younger twin and long-time rival of Surtur: his older twin brother. Thrym despises his older brother for having gained more of their father Annam's affection. However, this rage resulted in Thrym being named the greatest warrior of the Giant Ordning. Though he is seen as a bully by his family, he's also the most competent commander and warlord among them.

The scion of Thrym wields 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:a frozen battleaxe that deals for🐠ce damage and cold damage, and his slam attacks also deal force d♛amage instead of bludgeoning. This damage type switch alone makes this scion much more dangerous than those previously listed.

If forced to attack at range, the scion throws glaciers that deal bludgeoning and cold damage and have a chance of knocking their targets prone. The real kicker here, though, is the scion's glacial upheaval ability, which creates a 100-foot-high cylinder of ice that explodes from the ground, dealing cold and bludgeoning damage to those hit by it and sending them into the air.

Creatures who fail the Dexterity save also immediately fall after taking this damage, meaning they could potentially suffer another 10d6 of fall damage. As if that wasn't enough, on the scion's next turn, the cylinder of ice plummets to the ground and crushes anyone hit by it with more bludgeoning and cold damage. Talk about a one-two punch.

3 Scion Of Surtur (CR25🍬)

Fire Scion by Kent Davis

What Surtur lacks in combat prowess compared to his younger twin, he makes up for in spades thanks to his cunning and proficiency with metalwork. Surtur's fire giant worshippers sometimes call him "the All-Consuming Flame" in reference to the expectation that one day Surtur and his fire giant children will upend the Ordning and become the undisputed masters of giantkin.

Like his twin, the scion of Surtur's slam attacks also deal force damage. Instead of a frozen axe, Surtur wields a lava blade and can form balls of lava that he hurls at his enemies. In addition to the earth-shaking movement bonus action that all previous scions have, the scion of Surtur has an additional bonus action that shrouds him in incendiary smoke that damages nearby creatures and gives all ranged attacks against him disadvantage.

While it may just be 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:a bonus action, the incendiary smoke is quite powerful as it can't be dispelled, hurts nearby enemies, and makes attacking from range a losing proposition. It's a win-win scenario for the scion. Lastly, the scion has a lava wave ability that deals an absurd 11d10 fire damage to creatures in a 90-foot cone and restrains those caught in it in hardened rock.

2 Scion Of Memnor (CR26) ♈

cloud in the shape of a giant materializes out of clouds and above mountains
Cloud Scion by Andrew Mar

As duplicitous as the cloud giants that hail from him, Memnor is a figure of Giant lore that not even the Giants fully understand. Some claim that Memnor was Annam's brother who tried and failed to usurp him, while others claim Memnor was yet another child of Annam. Whatever the case, Memnor is known for his beguiling charm and impressive intellect.

The scion of Memnor personifies these traits with an 80-foot hover speed and immunity to opportunity attacks. As a bonus action, the scion can summon its fog of deception, which has a chance to charm all creatures caught in a 30-foot radius sphere. While charmed in this way, the creature must attack a creature within range of the scion's choice or otherwise use a ranged weapon attack on a creature of the scion's choice.

This fog is absolutely brutal as it not only takes away your actions but provides the scion an additional ally as your character is turned against the rest of your party. Aside from the fog, you've also got to worry about heavy amounts of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:thunder and force damage from the scion's morningstar and javelin attacks.

Lastly, the scion's thunderous vortex creates a maelstrom of wind that deals 8d12 thunder damage to those inside of it, pulls creatures nearby it closer, and potentially stuns.

1 Scion Of Stronmaus (CR27) ♛

Hall of the Storm Giant (Variant) by Alex Stone

Eldest and mightiest of Annam's children, Stronmaus is the reigning figurehead of Giantkin, even though most of his kind see him only as a steward. Stronmaus' only failing in the lore was his inability to recognize his brothers and sisters' cruelty, greed, and evil nature. Stronmaus viewed the world from a more idealistic perspective that allowed these traits to fester among his kind.

Undoubtedly the most powerful of the scions, the scion of Stronmaus unleashes its devastating power through storms brimming with lightning, hailstones, acid and freezing rain, and vengeance. Thankfully, waking a scion of Stronmaus doesn't necessarily result in a fight. It's in your best interest to avoid one.
