Dungeons & Dragons: All 2025 Forgotten Realms Unearthed Arca𓆏na Subclasses, R🐷anked

📖From moon musicians to assassins of the Dead Three.

Arcane users generally infuse their spells or weapons with magical arcane power, and these subclasses allow for more melee-oriented classes to try their hand at doing just that. From gods associated with the arcane domain to spellcasters broadening the type of magic they ൩study, we rank all the arcane subclasses to see which is the best.

9 🔜 Transmuter Wizard

  • Gain Resistance And Other Benefits Through Your Transmuter Stone
  • Gain Temporary Hit Points, Cast Raise Dead For Free Or Appear Younger

As a Transmuter wizard, you'll get a speed increase and darkvision through your transmuter stone. Both are nice to have, but🌊 almost feel underwhelming as early-level options. You also gain resistance to your choice of elemental damage, choosing the type every💛 time you use the benefit. As you level, you can gain two resistances instead of one through your stone.

If this is as overwhelming as it sounds, it doesn't get much better. You can use the stone to gain hit points equal to twice your level, cast Raise Dead for free, or look 3d10 years younger than your actual age. Once used this way, the stone disintegrates, of course. You do get the benefit of affecting two creatures using you cast a Transmutation spell by casting it on a level higher⛦, which is the best this class has. However, this is also available for other subclasses, so it's not even unique enough to make this subclass any better.

8 🍰 Conjurer Wizard

  • Teleport And Switch Places With Allies
  • Your Concentration Cannot Be Broken

This subclass is all about teleportation. There's not much here aside from the ability to teleport up to 30 feet or switch places with a willing creature. The option is great, and the distance is upgraded as y♔ou level up, but there's not much more tܫo it, unfortunately.

168澳洲幸运5开奖网:At higher levels, you can do this as a reaction, which is helpful at least. You also give temporary hit points to whatever you summon through your Conjuration spells. It's some handy options, but overall, it falls flat compared to oℱther options.

7 ♓ ꦑ Necromancer Wizard

Three archmages from the Greyhawk setting in Dungeons & Dragons (DND).
Archmages of Greyhawk by Kai Carpenter
  • Grant Temporary Hit Points When Using Necromancer Spells
  • Grant Temporary Hit Points To Summoned Undead
  • Protect Yourself From Death

The usual Necrotic damage resistance is here, along with the play on using the undead. What makes this subclass unique is the ability to give your undead summons temporary hit points to help them last longer for whatever you're using them for. You can use Summon Undeไad without a spell slot, but it'll halve the hit points of the summoned creature.

Before death comes, you can prepare by using a 4+ level spell slot, expending its use so that when you drop to 0 hit points, you instead change to hit points equal to ten times the spell slot level you used. The reason this is higher on the list is because not only does this keep you alive, but immediately after taking damage, you can teleport out of the way to safety, and the space you were 𝐆in takes 2d10 Necrotic damage, making one dramatic resurrection and exit.

6 Tattoed Warrior ﷽Monk

An orc creating a magical tattoo in Dungeons & Dragons.
Magical Tattoos via Wizards of the Coast
  • Tattoos With Different Effects, Such As Granting Resistance Or Advantages
  • Higher Levels Grant Decent Spells At The Cost Of Focus Points

The 🔯Tattooed Warrior monk sounds cool in theory, but it's pretty average compared to other options available in the Unearthed Arcana set. Most of what you'll get here are tattoos that provide minimal buffs. The variety is great, as there are tattoos for a ton of different cantrips you'l𓃲l have access to that you can change after a Long Rest.

It's not really better than other monk subclasses, though. There are tattoos for resistance to elements, and advantages on saving throws that'll permeate the lower levels. Higher levels can cast spells such as Blink and Counterspell and even gain a flight speed at the cost of Focus Points, but 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:that's at level 17, and most campaigns won't even make it there. The best option is when you have your hit points reduced to zero, you will instead make them douಌble♚ your monk level to keep you in the fight.

5 Enchanter Wizard ▨ ꦫ

Dungeons & Dragons an elf wizard and her owl familiar.
Dungeons & Dragons Player's Handbook Art by Wizards of the Coast
  • Use Disengage And Dash As Bonus Actions
  • Reduce Damage Done To You
  • Target Additional Creatures

The big deal for Enchanter Wizards are the options that help them get out of a sticky situation. The ability to use Dash or Disengage as a bonus action as a rogue would, can get yo🍰u out of a tight spot in a safe manner. You get a +1 to your Intelligence when making a Charisma check, all꧅owing you to talk yourself into something and sneak yourself out of it after.

Dungeons & Drago⛎ns: Best Subclass Of Every Class

While there are a ton of subclassไes available in D&D, we list the best for each class option.

The addition of being able to reduce damage done to you if you are caught also turns that 🙈damage back on the user, forcing them to eat their words, attack, or spell. When you use an🧸 Enchantment spell, you can target an additional creature by casting it at a higher level, really putting your enchantment to work.

4 Ancestral Sorcer🦩y Sorcerer ꦺ

Draconic Sorcerer by Lauren Walsh
  • A Personal Visage Of Your Lineage That Provides Opportunities For You
  • Mastery Over Spells Such As Counterspell And Dispel Magic

This Unearthed Arcana is very specific, making it harder to really try out. However, if you're into t🌱he roleplay aspect and the spells provided, this can be a great option for a sorcerer lineage. The Ancestral Sorcery sorcerer gains the ability to have a spectral form of their choosing appear in a haze around them. This visage can frighten anyone within a five-foot radius of it at higher levels.

Taking damage will not break your concentration, and you have 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Counterspell and Dispel Magic constantly prepared; they can be cast without a spell slot, and you've got advantage on ability checks for Dispel Magic, and the target has disadvanta🙈ge on their Counterspell save. The specific nature here though makes this subclass less interesti❀ng than others.c

3 Arcana Domain Cler🍒ic 🔜

  • New Arcane Spells
  • Channel Divinity Grants Temporary Hit Points
  • Gain Wizard Spells

With a pretty cool background, the Arcana Domain cleric is associated with a god who knows the inner workings of the arcane intimately. As far as what you'll get from the subclass, you'll obtain extra prepared spells that pair well with the arcane nature of the subclass. You'll get some pretty useful spells, usually unobtainable by clerics,🙈 including options such as Telepo🦩rtation Circle, Counterspell, Arcane Eye, and Magic Missile.

Dungeons & Dragons: Best Unearthed Arcana Subclasses That We🌸r🌠e Never Published

These Unearthed Arcana subclasses never got time to 🎃shine in D&D, but we still want to play them.

1

You get two wizardꦜ cantrips to help fill out your spellcasting options, which is vastly needed unless you plan on spamming Guiding Bolt. You also get to learn wizard spells as you level up. ❀Your Channel Divinity allows you to gain temporary hit points as you cast spells, and once you restore hit points, you can cast Dispel Magic for free. The wizard spells, and free spell casts make this subclass a great addition, as the cleric is generally stuck regarding some of the options now available.

2 Arcane Archer⛄ Fighteไr

  • Arcane Shots Apply Extra Damage And Status Conditions
  • Curving Shot Turns A Miss Into An Opportunity

Arcan🐲e archers weave spells into their fighting style to create a unique hybrid that blends both their mastery of the arcane and archery. This subclass will give you cantrips and skill proficiencies, though those feel negligible as additions. This subclass shines with iꦉts arcane shots.

You can load up your ammo with different shots that have different effects, from banishing a target to a demiplane to inflicting status conditions such as charme🧔d or poisoned. Curving Shot allows you to redirect a missed shot to another enemy with an additional attack roll. The options here make this subclass a unique bet that is well worth trying out.

  • Regain Hit Points And Deal Extra Necrotic Damage
  • Versatile Hexblade Curse Options For Every Major Milestone Level
  • Options To Debuff Your Target And Buff Yourself

Throwing out Necr♌otic dama🔯ge and gaining hit points when an enemy is downed feel like quintessential warlock abilities. The Hexblade Patron has that and more, making it a great UA option to try. Early on, you'll have the ability to place the Hexblade curse as a bonus action, granting you a +2 AC bonus when near a cursed target while wearing no armor, and regaining hit points when they drop to 0.

Successful saving throws against keeping your concentration will damage those around you, and the Hexblade Curse can do even more, such as forcing disadvantage on the target, rolling a Critical Hit on a 19𝔉, and even exploding for Necrotic, Psychic, or Radiant damage. You can do so much with the Hexblade Curse that it feels like one of the most powerful and versatile warlock options available for every level milestone.
