Dungeons & Dཧragons is🔥 an ever-expanding game, constantly adding new content for players to enjoy, from new races, subclasses, items, and monsters. As one would expect, the recently released book, The Wild Beyond the Witchlight not only serves as a brand new adventure but features new goodies and customization options for players.
One of the most notable inclusions in the book is the brand new race, the Harengon. As a completely new addition to the lore of D&D, there's a lot to learn about this fun rabbit-like race. So today we're going to go over everything you need to know about the Harengon.
7 What Exactly Is A Har♏engon? ꧃
Harengon are a race of rabbit-folk that are known to traditionally be rife with energy, sometimes having trouble sitting still. The origins of the Harengon are tied directly to the realm of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the Feywild. However, 💖despite this, unlike races like Centaurs and H♐exbloods, Harengon are classified as humanoids, not fey.
6 🍨 Influenced By The Feywild
As a species with strong ties to the Feywild, it shouldn't be a surprise that many Harengon are directly influenced by the Fey realm. As the Feywild is a plane of extremes of emotion, it would not be uncommon for a Harengon raised within the Feywild to share traits associated with it, such as experiencing elated happiness alongside utter dispair when saddened.
Harengon will often possess quirks that ca🍷n be tied to their connection to their time in the Feywild, treating agreements as soul-binding contracts, as agreements and deals within the Feywild are often twisted or tied to magic.
5 ဣ They Can Be Found In A Variety Of Settings 🐼
Additionally, while their origins lie within the Feywild and they can be found there in great abundance, Harengon can actually be found across the multiverse and in a 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:variety of settings🧔 within the material𒁃 plane. This provides the race with a great deal of creative flexibility for players and DMs alike, allowing players to create boundless backstories for a Harengon character that don't necessarily need to be connected to the Feywild, while a DM may choose to have them appear with the same frequency a party may come across Dragonborn.
4 They Can Consistently Act Ea▨rly In Combat
Mechanically, every Harengon comes with several great abilities that can help them perform well in combat, pairing well with nearly every class in the game. One of the race's most noteworthy features is Hare-Trigger, which allows every Harengon to add their proficiency modifier to their initiative rolls.
This can allow characters to get in key positions quickly, deal with threats, and cast spells before a foe can act. When paired with a high dexterity ability score and the Alert feat, it's safe to say a Harengon will consistently be near the top of the initiative order.
3 They're Great With Dex Saves
Of all of the saving throws in D&D, dexterity saving throws are easily some of the most common. Used from a🍸nything from the Fireball spell to the breath of many types of dragons, Dexterity saving throws are associated with dodging an attack.
Outside of the aforementioned Hare-Trigger, another defining trait of a Harengon is their lucky footwork ability that allows a Harengon to add 1d4 to any dexterity saving throw that they may have failed, potentially turning said roll into a success. When paired with a class that is proficient in dexterity saving throws, a Harengon can reliably pass their dex saves. This is made all the more useful when paired with the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Shield Master feat that allows all damage from a successful dexterity save t♎o be prevented rather than half 🤪as long as the character at hand is wielding a shield.
2 ♏ Great Mobility 💮
The last noteworthy mechanical ability of a Harengon is their Rabbit Hop. This ability is a unique bonus action that can be used a limited number of times per day, causing them to jump a distance equal to five times the character's proficiency bonus. Not only can this allow a Harengon to cover more ground in a single turn without needing to dash, but this ability does not provoke attacks of opportunity. This allows the Rabbit Hop to be used flexibly in a manner similar to a 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Rogue's cunning action, fun🌸ctioning as a pseudo-dash and a pseudo-disengage,👍 all at once as a bonus action!
1 🎐 Flexible Ability Scores ♔
While many races across D&D have predetermined ability score improvements, Harengon utilize the flexible and customizable stat allocation that was introduced in Tasha's Cauldron of Everything. This means a Harengon can allocate three points into any of their ability scores as long as no more than two points are put in a single stat. This freedom allows a player building a Harengon character to optimally allocate their resources wherever a player wants them, further allowing Harengon to excel in any class.
