Wizards of the Coast has , their playtesting publication for . This edition includes reworks of the previous Revived rogue archetype,🐓 Noble Genie warlock patron, and Archivist Artificer – now the Phantom rogue, Genie warlock, and Order of Scribes wizard. Wizards of the Coast is also officially discontinuing work on other UA wizard subclasses.
The Phantom rogue refines the concept of the Revived rogue. While the Revived rogue was a rogue who has come back to life, the Phantom rogue is a rogue who is an expert in death. It ties the class into places where the line between life and death is thin like the Shado🀅wfell, and groups that live in those places like the Shadar-Kai. It also adds some more roguish abilities than just bonuses to skills and proficiencies.
The Genie warlock maintains th൩e same theming, but with some important changes that fans had requested to better fit the flavor of the subclass. Notably, it allows players to choose what type of genie their patron is, and changes half of the expanded spell list to match. It also adds 📖more genie-themed features, such as being able to rest in an extra-planar lamp and, of course, access to the Wish spell.
The Order of Scribes wizard is an adaptation of an artificer subclass, the Archivist. Wizards of the Coast decided that a class based on the written word was far more appropriate for a wizard than an artificer. It introduces many abilities based around writing and spell scrolls, including copying spells for less gold and manipulating spells that in the wizard’s spellbook. The Order of Scribes wizard’s spellbook is sentient, and the wizard can talk to it if༺ they get bored (or need a good spectral scout).
However, while the Order of Scribes is a new addition to the wizard class, the Onomancy and Psionics wizard subclasses are officially no longer being worked on. While fans of True Names as a fantasy trope might be disappointed, rest assured that there are still other 168澳洲幸运5开𒁃奖网:psionic-themed subclasses getting reworked in UA. However, for the foreseeable fut🐼ure, the wizard will n𝔉ot be getting a psionic subclass.
