Dying Light 2 will feature tons of choices that have a huge impact on the game. The original did not experiment with player choice but the sequel is diving straight in. Players are pressured into making a choice under time limits and they're never black and white. The choices will drastically change the and even the environment. During a gameplay demo, the player has to choose rather they want to stay with an injured character or proceed with their mission. In this instance, the player decided to proceed with the mission resulting in the character's death. Additionally, the results of the player's choꩲices opened up a new area to explore that would otherwise be locked to the player if they played differently.

Dying Light 2 will have seven unique regions to explore. The developers promise that each region will look different and offer new gameplay mechanics such as unique parkour opportunities. The first game had players stuck in the city of Harran. It offered some variety but ♋not to the scale promised from the sequel. Player choice, which is a mechanic the developers are hounding, will also add to the differences in the regions. A choice may result in the flooding of one region, which another player may not even witness.

7 New Zombies 💖 🦂

At the end of the gameplay demo, an arm shoots out of the ground. It makes a flexing motion and four spikes jolt out of it. This is definitely a tea🐻se for a new zombie type. What's more interesting though, is the narrator's commentary. The new region, opened up by the player's actions will also bring new enemies.

This small tease shows that player action may determine the type of enemies they face. The dynamic world is something never before seen in Dying Light and it looks to affect zombie type as well as nওarra💝tive.

6 ✨ 𓃲 A Teeming World

This may seem counterintuitive in a game about the zombie apocalypse but it's true. The gameplay shows off a world that's much more alive then Harran in the original. Humans are trying to survive in this world and they've made thriving communities. The demo opens up in a bar teeming with NPCs. It creates a much better sense of desperate survival in a dead world. The original had hubs but NPCs were scarce and usually scattered about. Dying Light shows the interaction between survivors as a variety of conversations can be overheard. Not only that but the screenshot above shows a much more detailed world in terms of objects and scale. Dying Light 2 looks to be much mo🎀re fun to explore t𒁏han its predecessor.

5 🍬 The Infection 🦩

Aiden Caldwell is infected by the zombie virus. He has to live with the fear of turning like everyone else. Kyle Crane, from the first game, also had to deal with this. He would often have seizures has a result of the virus. Dying Light 2 seems to be taking a much more centered approach to this storyline. Caldwell finds himself in a dark zone, where the zombies thrive, and he quickly realizes his infection is starting to spread. He looks down at the contraption on his wrist to see what level t♕he infection is at. This gives a time limit to the player. They have to escape the zombies but also worry about the spreading infection within.

4 The Parkour 🐷

The parkour in the original game was not too bad. It was a fun and fluent way to escape a horde of zombies or get from point A to point B. The parkour in Dying Light 2 looks even better. Caldwell jumps from rooftop to roofto💮p with ease. It looks easy, fluid and fast-paced. Techland said the sequel will offer double the parkour moves of its predecessor. The demo shows Caldwell tackling zombies off rooftops, wall running, and vaulting over enemies. The tra🥀nsition from move to move was seamless and fun to watch.

3 New Toys

The few weapons and gadgets we've seen so far are better than that of the original game. First of all, a grappling🐬 hook helps out with pඣarkour and a paraglider makes travel easier. These both work seamlessly with parkour and adds more moves to the traversal system.

Only one major weapon has been shown off but it lꦓooks promising. The Scorpio kills its enemy in one hit with a str👍ong projectile. It can also be turned around and used as a melee weapon. If these are only a taste of what's to come, then we have something to look forward too.

2 Environment inter𓆉action

The grappling hook, mentioned above, can be used to interact with the environment in several different ways. It was used to tear the frame off a vent to create another path, swing from th🤪e roof to initiate a ground pound, and pull a barrel onto an enemy. Caldwell can also pull down garage doors to block off a horde of zombies. Environmental interactivity adds new creative choices in gameplay that was hardly seen in the first game. These are only a few examples from the demo but more environmental interaction is sure to be in the .

1 Better Voice Acting ꦓ

The voice acting in the first game was hard to take seriously at times, especially the p🍎rotagonist's voice. This time around the acting seems to be ten times better. The new narrative focus does merit better voice acting so it's refreshing to see this improvement. It's too bad the game got delayed. We will have to wait an indefinite amount of time to see all these improvements come to fruition. Hopefully, the delay will make the game even better and we'll see a new release date soon.
