We sat down with composer Olivier Derivière to speak about finding the new sound🅺 of Dying Light’s next entry and what has changed since Dying Light 2.

Kyle Crane Is A Changed Man In The Beast, And Players Will Experience That

To start, Smith called his return to the role of Crane an "honour," though returning after a de🌌cade to the role does have him feeling old. Speaking of change, Crane as a character has been very clearly impacted by experimentation and is not how we as players remember him.

Those character changes pushed Smi📖th to up the ant𝔉e when it comes to portraying Crane while also tying things together.

"This Kyle is a much darker Kyle," he explained. "He’s suf🐓fered so much trauma at the hands of the antagonist, and so we have to implement that while trying to thread the connection between Dying Light 1’s Kyle Crane and this version of Kyle Crane that’s taking place many years later."

Still, those changes don't mean that the Kyle Crane we played🐟 as in 2015 still isn't in there somewhere, with Smith admitting to tapping into that perso♒nality at points.

"Dying Light 1’s Kyle is more sarcastic, and it’s fun to try and pepper some of 🔯that in."

Given that we're in May, hopefully it won't be too long before a release date is finalized so that we can all see how Smith's performance has evolved. Oh, and also feel old b𝐆ecause 10 years is a really long time.
