According to EA, both Dice and Respawn Entertainmꩲent are in charge of the future of Battlefront and Titanfall, and not the publisher itself.
It was revealed in an interview with that EA prefers to give its studios complete creative control over the games they make, and doesn't like to tell teams what to create. In the interview, the chief studios officer for EA, Laura Miele, explains that each studio uses fan feedback and the general motivation of its dev🧸elopers to make decisions on what games should be made.
"I don’t believe in directing or telling games teams what to create, i♔t has to come from the player community, and the inspiration and motivation of developers."
Miele uses 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Star Wars Battlefront 2 as a successful example of EA's approach to game development. After the game's 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:controversy-filled launch back in 2018, Dice provided free content and consistent updates to Battlefront 2 as an apology for disappointing fans. As a result, the game is now incredibly popular amongst the Star Wars community, with a whopping 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:19 million people claiming the game when it was part of an Epic Games ﷽Store giveaway.
However, Miele also wants players to understand that making everyone happy one hundred percent of the time is impossible. This was in response to the recent 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:cancellation of Anthem Next and Miele goes on to explain that time and resources were better allocated to BioWare's Mass Effect and Dragon Age projects. Miele also points out that 🍸Covid-19 had a substantial negative impact on Anthem's development.
In regards to the future of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Titanfall and Respawn, Miele offers the slightest bit of hope to fans still hoping for a third Titanfall game. Respawn may be currently working on 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Apex Legends - something that many fans think is the reason behind the lack of a third installment - but Miele confirms that the studio is i𒁏n complete control of 💖its own future.
"Apex takes place in the Titanfall world and the🍌 Respawn team is incredibly proud of that legacy and brand," explains Miele. "That team will determine what the f🐻uture holds for Apex and Titanfall."
There are some inconsistencies between Miele's words and EA's actions. Despite Miele claiming that development is based on a mixture of player feedback and developer motivation, support for Battlefront 2 ceased a while ago. Player numbers are stillဣ incredibly high and it makes little sense for EA to stop supporting one of its most popular games - unless Battlefront 3 is right around the corner...
